Guild Wars 2

I played a bit of GW2 earlier today and then shut down the client. When I returned and opened the client it said something about Repairing data and then crashed. When I re-loaded the client it was starting a new download of the full game.

Locate Gw2.dat. It’s where the game stores all its data and should be around 23 GB.

Right click the drive (see the left panel or open Computer) that Gw2.dat is on and click properties. Under the Tools tab, click check now under error checking. Choose to automatically fix any errors and begin the scan. You may want to do an entire surface/bad sector scan later to check the entire drive for problems, which will take hours. Bad sectors can lead to drive failure.

In the same folder as Gw2.dat should be Gw2.exe. You can try repairing the game using the option:

Gw2.exe -repair
