Game unplayable on High End laptop
How many Dzagonurs and Gunnars do you need to kill me? Over 9000!!
coming back to the game with a new laptop which is high end and should be able to run the game 2 times on ulltra. the laptop cant even handle the game on lowest settings.
the laptop has a nvidia graphic card.. everytng is up to date and i checked if the game doesnt run on integrated graphics..
evebn my 7 years old other laptop can run that game smooth on low
i wonder if tehre is a bug which forces my laptop to use the integrated graphic even i set the settings to use the nvidia one
and the system specs are?
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
Your graphics card is not the most important factor, the CPU is.
Best post your laptop model and specs, then someone might be able to tell you what the issue is.
Kaerleikur @ Elonaspitze
i am to lazy to do so now but as i said my 7 years old laptop can handle the game fine (just tested it) but the new one which is 1k times better cant and i know why now..the developers are to dumb to fix this issue which is tehre since beginning.. the game forces the laptop to use integrated graphics even i turned the integrated off. thats what i found after looking a bit longer with google.. but im not willing to use a 3rd party programm to change some folders in the game or whatever to make the game run on my new laptop.. that the job of the developers

Well, if you don’t provide us with info, we can’t provide you with answers.
Have a good day playing something other than GW2.
Kaerleikur @ Elonaspitze
and you dont understand that this has nothing to do with the specs.. as i said i have high end laptop the best you can get for money.. i can run everygame which is out atm on highest settings without problem.. but as i said gw2 not and its not that intense.. so if you dont understand that youre welcome leave and to keep youre comments which doesnt provide any help

actually it does, it has EVERYTHING to do with your laptops specs. If you take the 5mins it takes to write the specs in a post, then we can better advise you on how to fix your issue.
My guess is you have an intel i7 CPU with a HD4600 GPU, and also a Nvidia 860. And your Nvidia Control panel isnt switching to the 860 for GW2. That is a DRIVER issue and not a GW2 issue. You will have update your drivers to fix that issue, or apply well known registry fixes as a work around. Again THAT issue is not at fault on anyone other then the manufacturer of your laptop.

idc whos fault it is i cant play the game on this laptops and i wont do any workarrounds if the developers cant handle the kitten. and yes i already said its a problem that the game forces the laptop to run on integrated.. and if yu would have read my first post it says that everything is up to date

edit: and ofc its a gw2 issues as it does work normaly with other games so why shouldnt it be a gw2 issues when the game doesnt switch for gw2 but any other game?

well if you want to continue acting like a kid, and not be forthcoming of requested information then no one here (Anet included) can help you.
You might as well uninstall GW2 now and go back to one of your ‘other’ games that is ‘working’ perfectly. As your not going to make any headway here.
Now if you want to actually work with us and supply system information (as I first requested) then by all means do so. But staying here saying its gw2’s fault and nothing else, is completely unproductive. Your time can be better used some place else.

How about humoring the people are actively trying to help you troubleshoot why the game isn’t working for your new high end laptop?
Post your specs and answer all of the questions they ask you with an actual response and not a “it’s a high end laptop, it’s not my laptop” answer.
so tell me how my specs have something to do with the fact that the game forces my laptop to use the integrated graphics? and ofc its gw2 fault youre ofc allowed to think something else if you feel better. and if you dont want to help me better dont post here

That is not a model number, I need the exact model number. If you will not supply it I am done helping you.
Ill answer YOUR questions when you answer MINE.

ok thats proof im right what i said. gtfo then

It will be impossible to explain why it doesn’t work without knowing your specs, and as such it would be completely pointless to post on these forums if you are unwilling to give people those specs.
ArenaNet can’t look at your account-name and magically get all the information about your computer after all.
The fact that you seems to refuse help (and basically attack people that try) would also suggest that this seems more like a thread made to complain rather than a thread wanting actual help.

So you aren’t going to help those who have been trying help you.
Do remember that there are people out there who claim something isn’t working only for the tech sent out to find out that they forgot to plug it in. ANet doesn’t know that you don’t fall into this category of customer and are saying your laptop is high end when it’s not. Therefore, they are likely to classify your complaint as: doesn’t meet specs, but thinks he does, and move on to the next problem.
Not saying you fall into that category, but ANet has to weigh what issues get looked at with a priority system. Person A who gives specific details about their problem is more likely to get attention than Person B who gives generic details about their problem.
You’re giving generic details. You’ll move up the priority list if you post some specific details. Like your exact specs.
ok thats proof im right what i said. gtfo then
we are done.
Guys this is just a troll, its time to ignore him.

Unless you have anything new to add, like your computer specs, I doubt anyone will be able to help you.
However, have you checked to make sure you have the most updated drivers?
yes as i already said 2 times all my drivers are up to date
How many Dzagonurs and Gunnars do you need to kill me? Over 9000!!
Alright missed that.
So unless you’re willing to give more details, you likely won’t be able to get more help. Either from players or from ANet. High end computer doesn’t give them enough details to troubleshoot on their end.
whatever.. i just let the thread be on the first 2 pages so ppl see that the devs dont care about a major problem
How many Dzagonurs and Gunnars do you need to kill me? Over 9000!!
But what can they do without you supplying information?
It is like how I would go to the doctor and say I was sick, but refuse to tell him the symptoms and then rage about him/her/it not giving me any treatment.

but i already told the problem multiple times.. the game forces my laptop to use the integrated graphics instead of the nvidia graphics even if you set nvidia control panel to use nvidia graphics only — and according to my reseach its a common issue with nvidia laptops
How many Dzagonurs and Gunnars do you need to kill me? Over 9000!!
I think I know what the problem is.
OP is too embarrassed of admitting they don’t know how to check the laptop specs.
Kekkity kekkity kek.
And what’s your exact video card – both the integrated one and the dedicated one?
Until you put enough data out there for them to work with, they can’t really narrow it down. Is it nVidia brand? Is it a specific integrated card? Is it a specific type of nVidia card? Is it a specific nVidia card?
Have you talked with nVidia to see if there’s something you can do on your end? Or your laptop’s manufacturer? Just in case it is something that you have to fix on your end?
This it?
“MEDION® ERAZER X7831 Laptop
Intel® Core™ i7-4710MQ processor
Windows 8.1 Update
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 880M DirectX® 11 graphics
1,000 GB hard drive, 128 GB SSD
16 GB RAM memory
Blu-ray drive
Dolby® Home Theater™
43.9 cm/17.3" matt full HD display"
You need to go into the BIOS and turn off the Intel integrated graphics. Not the NVIDIA control panel.
Its not an Anet problem but a PEBCAK one
—Napoleon Bonaparte
no its not the laptop.. and turning integrated of doesnt work either.
ok if you think its not anet problem its ok for me . if itmakes you sleep better.
How many Dzagonurs and Gunnars do you need to kill me? Over 9000!!
Well, the fact that you completely refuse to share details that could identify the problem would suggest that you are quite aware that the issue most likely lies with you rather than ArenaNet.
Krall Peterson – Warrior

im totaly aware that it is anet problem as i said multiple times that all new games which are out work easy on highes possible settings and run 60-100 fps

OP is trolling and you are all biting. Just look at his name—TEASER!
It takes a couple of secs to get the specs and post them—even his Nvid control panel can tell the OP what they are.
Obviously , if he isn’t trolling (which I doubt0 he bought a POS laptop. Hell, he could even post the laptops maker and model number.
Problem is the laptop and the OP and just want to insult Anet and all those that suggest he provide his specs.
well i dont see any reasons to post the specs as it has nothing to do with it. its just a major problem anet has since release what you can find out as well if you use google.. but i wont use any workaround or what ever where i have to download other programs or change stuff in the registry
How many Dzagonurs and Gunnars do you need to kill me? Over 9000!!
So you basically want them to cater a solution specifically around you, without you telling them anything at all?
I can just as easily claim that it is all your fault and that you are outright lying. I don’t even need to supply any sort of proof for it, it just is like that.
Krall Peterson – Warrior

There really is no reason to even respond to the OP anymore. He isn’t willing to work with people trying to help him. Just let this thread die and maybe he will figure it out himself one day.
well think whatever you want.. i dont want them to have a solution for only me .. i want a solution for ppl who have the same problem.. i mean ofc i could stop posting hwere as i can play the game on my other laptop or on my desktop easily but i dont want this major problem to be forgotten
and as i said i wont let the thread die as i will push it everyday.. if it gets deleted i repost.. if i get banned i come with my other account

Sounds like a good way to get both your accounts infracted and possibly suspended or banned. Go for it.
and ofc you can claim that i lie… but i know that im right and you wrong and thats a huge difference
How many Dzagonurs and Gunnars do you need to kill me? Over 9000!!
well i dont know why i should get banned i dont flame or insult anything just want some help for other ppl with this major problem which exists for years and devs dont care about

well i dont know why i should get banned
This will do it:
if it gets deleted i repost.. if i get banned i come with my other account
still dont find any reason but lets get to topic or ihave to call the mods

There is no topic anymore. You refuse to work with people trying to help you. By keeping your thread afloat while not working with people trying to help you, it is disrespectful of others that post here for help as it pushes their posts off the page. Those players that are willing to work with people that may offer them help. No need to call the mods. I already reported your post where you threatened to spam your topic even if you have to use your other account.
Good luck.

yeah ofc i refuse… still got no answer my it matters that you guys need my specs.. as this problem has nothing to do with my specs
