Guild Wars 2

Recently I’ve been having issues with the mac beta which is odd because before it was running just fine. The client will load and bring up the login screen without any problems, however after I’ve logged in and hit “play” I’m given the grey screen of death. Nothing shows up, however the mouse icon changes to the gw2 standard arrow and the hand when the mouse is placed over where my character should be. I’ve already tried redownloading, and it hasn’t done anything.

Currently running on OSX 10.8.2, 2Ghz Intel core i7 macbook pro

Hey- I’m having the same issue. I log in just fine, but once the game client actually starts to run and takes over full screen it just stays black. I’m also getting the hand and the curser if I put the mouse in the right place on the screen.
I’m running OSX 10.8.2, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 macbook pro "17 inch.

Having the same issue as well. Right now I’m reinstalling the game hopefully that will work. BTW I have a 15 inch retina macbook pro. I’ll let you guys know if I have any success.

That would be amazingly helpful if you would post if the reinstall fixes your issue. I am having the same problem. My mac never met the requirements to play but it has been running fine despite that fact.

I am really hoping they will fix this issue fast.

same issue. ran well this afternoon, but tonight it goes gray where character select should be. 15" 2.66ghz core 2 duo…

Unfortunately the reinstall did not fix the problem. I’m completely clueless on what to do. The game ran fine and this suddenly starts occurring. sigh hope its patched soon.

Quick question on the reinstall, did you also rip out the components from the Library or just removed from Applications?

I too am having the same issues when it comes to the character select screen. I can see the arrow for the screen but everything else is black and there is no sound
