Hey guys, I’m looking into desktops as I have gotten into Guild Wars so much. I know practically nothing about building a PC but trying to do some research. I’ve searched around for some 600$ budget builds and the one I’ve seemed to like so far is:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 × 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card
Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: SeaSonic 520W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Total: $604.93

At the moment, my laptop can run the game on medium settings with some spikes from map events ( not world ). And WvW with a zerg is unbearable. I would like some improvement into this PC i build but I realize only 600$ is not much going into a gaming rig.

Feel free to criticize or suggest your own builds for around 600$. Any advice helps!
Thank you~

Honestly I don’t see any improvements without going over budget by a lot. Be happy with over 30fps performance if you want pretty in PvE except during boss events. Best to play just above minimum settings in WvW and hope for the best. This system may be able to do better than that but if you set your expectations low to begin with, they you’ll be happy when it beats them rather than disappoint you because you expected better right off the start.

I know, little consolation. Upside is other games should perform pretty well.

Don’t listen to the above, it will be a lot smoother in the end if you understand the individual parts and you can diagnose issues yourself. Stick with building your pc, don’t buy a prebuilt.

Looks good. Though dont expect much from GW2’s WvW, the only way to get better FPS in WvW is with a OC’d intel CPU, which will add about $200 onto the cost.

If you could up the budget to $700 you could get a i5 3570K processor.

Before you overclock the processor you would still need to add this.

I hope you have a new power supply to put in their because the one they use will never power a 560ti They use the cheapest crap they can have made for them. Also when you take the side of the casse off to install the video card their a seal on the back of the case you just voided your warranty.

The 3570K and the Z75 motherboard are really hard to beat for less than $300
They will allow for a very decent overclock and for this game the clock speed and a Intell processor is the only way to go.
You can get by with about any video card (made for gaming) but the demands placed on the processor are killer.

Difference between Z75 and Z77 is negligible outside of no support for more than 2 vid cards to be used. Zerk is referring to the ASRock Pro3 Z75
