Gamma Resets everytime I change maps
Did anyone ever find out how to fix this? I am currently having this same issue. I have my gamma set at about 1.50 but every time I tab out of the game and come back in it resets it to about 1.00. My gamma bar still reads 1.50 but in no way shape or form is it actually 1.50. Just curious as I’ve tried to find similar posts but have yet to succeed.
Make sure you are in “fullscreen” and not “Windowed(Fullscreen)”. Any Windowed mode will use your Desktop gamma.

Aye i know, I am in full screen at 1920×1080. I will make a quick note that mine doesn’t happen when i switch zones, its clearly only when i tab out of the game. Even in character select, the gamma goes down as well.
Now this sounds like a game bug.
An alternative way to change the gamma would be to change your video card gamma setting in Windows. Of course, this will affect everything outside of the game as well.
I have also tried this, basically everything I can think of outside of what I don’t know; on where or how to change gamma. I was hoping that the guy above me found a miracle way to fix this or had found another post. It being a year ago I was trying for a long run. If anyone has had a similar problem or has any more suggestions I am all ears. It gets extremely annoying having to re-fix the gamma every 10 mins because I have tabbed out of the game.
This happens to me on the Mac. About 75% of the time, when I use Trading Post, the color profile would change from my iMac’s native one and the gamma would reset to 1.00 until I switched away from the GW2 application to the Desktop, a web browser or something similar, and then back to GW2. This happens in full screen AND windowed mode. It really sucks in fullscreen mode because I have to dally with the gamma slider to get my color setting back. If I try app switching in fullscreen, the profile will switch back to sRGB and the gamma back to 1.00. I was worried that it was a Mac only issue so I researched on the web and then I changed my color profile to sRGB (full title is “sRGB IEC61966-2.1”). That worked fine. The only other issue is the gamma.
It resets to 1.00 gamma until I do the application switching work-around. I’m now playing at 1.00 gamma to avoid the color change, but I’d rather play it at 1.26, or better yet, at the color profile I choose. I dunno, I think the GW2 application still has a long way to go before it actually feels like a “native client”.
