Yea other people are getting errors with redeeming codes. I think its likely to be the same issue and related to the massive backend update they did last night.

Same to me happened about 1 hour ago. Money have been drawn from my bank account though. No gems, no mail.

Same here. Bought gems a few hours ago, still got nothing. The charge appears on my bank statement, however.
I’m guessing it only worked for those who posted in this forum because I still have not received mine.
Still haven’t gotten my 4,000 gems back yet. Figured the servers where laggy so I waited and got nothing. Just sent a ticket to support and figured posting here wouldn’t hurt.

It’s fixed now but some minutes after I got a reply from support sending the details of the transaction. So if you don’t have done that and still don’t have anything then contact support

I’ve bought gems in the past with the same credit card ( i have a special one just for buying stuff online) Today i wanted to buy the 100€ pack and ofc i used the same CC as always, but it says payment approval failed. Ok i thought maybe the bank transfer didnt happend yet ( the card needs to be charged with money from a normal card or by bank transfer) so i went to the bank and checked my CC’s money balance..and there it was 101€…so i camed back home and tried again…and guess what.. “payment approval failed”.
So what am i doing wrong?
Can a dev pls answer this topic?
Sometimes lag will do this. Try waiting about 15 seconds between steps to let the system process. See if that clears it up.

I’m having trouble too this morning. Has always worked in the past, using same CC double checking info, waiting, and almost immediately after clicking confirm a page comes up that payment failed.
It isn’t even going through to the CC company as I just called them and they aren’t showing any pending transactions. I tried it 3 times failed each time. So nothing wrong on my end, info or my cc.

Okay just tried it again, still no go, submitted a support ticket on it.
I’ve been trying to buy the 8k gems pack since this morning ( its 20:35 now).-..still getting payment approval failed message…even if i got the money on my card.. Not my first time using this card and kinda strange and funny at the same time that someone doesnt want my money xD

I suggest you contact support. Go to support tab at top of page then go to ‘ask a question’.
One of my associates just kindly forwarded me purchase logs, and our records show that everyone in this thread except Sartori received gems in relation to his or her purchases. I know that transactions may take a few hours, when the store is busy, but it appears that everyone is good to go… except poor Sartori, who thanks goodness has filed a ticket and will be helped as soon as possible. (Sartori, you’re not getting charged, but you’re also not getting your gems. Contacting your CC company was a good idea, as was submitting that ticket.)
We’re sorry for any confusion, and of course if some of you guys feel that things are not settled up properly, you’re welcome to submit a ticket and the team will carefully review the entire transaction history.

I’ve tried about 12 hours ago and a few hours ago, I got a message that the transaction failed, so I try using another credit card and it also fails. The card that I use is the card that I bought the game with so I don’t know what is the problem why I can not buy gem
I’m having this issue too – I simply get an error message, whether I use PayPal or CC. I have however used Paypal successfully before, to buy gems.
Fizble, try submiting a ticket, if you get “too many failed attempts" in a short period of time this can result in an immediate error due to GW2 fraud prevention rules. So you need to contact support. This was my case also yeasterday..seeing how my banking institution delayed the transfer to my card so when i first tried like 4-5 times in a row yeasterday morning i got that error. All cleare up now tho.

I purchased the new Thornroot finisher from the gem store about one half hour ago. My purchase clearly shows up under the “recent purchases” section of the Black Lion panel. Yet the permanent finisher still remains locked when I check within the finishers tab within the Hero panel.
I’m not particularly sure what’s going on.
I’m using a pre-paid Vanilla Mastercard, however, I have bought gems using one before, no matter what amount of gems I try to buy, I continue to have this issue.

I have filled in all the fields including the Visa symbol, and have tried everything. I still keep getting a payment failed message. It’s not a technical issue and if you chose that, you’ll get this long response that asks you to pull reports that are not necessary for your issues.

I talked with our internal team that works on the Gem Store about recent posts. The issue that was present when this thread started is fixed. If you’re having an issue now, you will need to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. The team will be able to kitten the issue that is preventing you from making a purchase.
For tips on what information to provide in a ticket — mostly intended for security reasons to establish that you own the account — please read this post and provide as many suggested details as possible to expedite the ticket.
