So… this xmas, my friends all purchased me an arctic suit … I ended up getting 4 in the mail. As the arctic suit is account wide through outfits and not a transmutation gear, is it possible to refund 3 of the gifts?

Unfortunately, I do not believe so.

Regardless, your friends (as the original purchasers) would have to contact the CS Team and apply for a refund, but from past perusal of the threads in Account Issues, once an item has been gifted, it can not be returned.

you, or better yet your friend would have to contact support and file a ticket, it might take some time considering its christmas time, and try explaining what happened, if they allow a refund the items mentioned will have to be destroyed, good luck

It would be a waste of time for you to contact the CS Team, as the Team would only interact with the purchaser of the item.

As stated before, your friends would need to initiate the request, and hope policy has changed.

Are the support team normally quick to reply? I just sent in a ticket, asking them for a refund.. I bought 3 lots of the same GEM transaction, by accident, due to the pay-pal screen not loading on my IE properly TWICE.

I only wanted one purchase, but it made three go through… I hope they are quick to sort this out, I have played GW2 since close to it’s release date.

The window for support response is 3 days (72 hours) meaning they try to respond within that time frame. If you do not receive a response by then you can post your ticket number in the “3 Days & older” sticky thread.

You should have already received a auto response email with your ticket number. If you didn’t you may want to review these threads:

Yeah, I got the automated response, now just waiting for the person who will deal with it to get to me.
I have the transaction codes which I sent to them so it shouldn’t be too hard for them to sort this out, I think.

Yep, all you can do is wait at this point. Tickets are reviewed in the order they are received.

Yep, that is their target time to respond within that 72 hour window. It could be sooner. I’m not sure what affect the holidays have on Anet’s support staff. They state they are staffed every day of the year. Hopefully your issue will be resolved soon.
