I think I made a post and replied onto another saying that I had this problem, that when I load GW2 onto my computer it just says connection error(s) detected, retrying…
and this kinda ticks me off a little as i am really enjoying the game and would like to get back to it as soon as possible.

I have had previous post saying it could be my AVG firewall but I don’t know whether I should let it down.

What should I do, please could I get help as soon as possible please.

I know from experiance peerblocker hates GW2 ..so if you have that turn it off when playing.

As for AVG, well i dont use that anymore but if its getting in the way, turn it of. Dont really need somthing liek that on when your just playing a game. Just make sure ur not downloading or browsing any ‘shady’ websites whilst ur playing.

It is the new version of AVG. The 2013 version blocks the game.

So what your telling me is that coz i have AVG i have to pull that down so i can play GW2. why would this be i thought the guild wars developers and designer would have created it so this would happen.

i don’t think the owner of the computer would let me take down AVG.

Couldn’t there possibly be another way. i thought there were meant to be guild wars developers and tech support lurking to help out people like me on these things.

please can it be sorted in any other way.

if he has a router, he really dont need a software firewall.
Why not use a different program that would not cause issues, or one that is better than AVG.
You can even use windows own firewall and AV software, that does work.

Oh really, it’s not even your own computer and the game needs to be adjusted to useless, utterly crappy software no sane being should use in 2012 because you can’t either disable or properly configure it? I guess those are massive first world problems.
How about you go ask the owner, or did you steal the computer? O__o

Here is how I fixed my connection error(s), retrying.
First I used system restore, then I uninstalled AVG and something called Tuneup utilities 2013(it has it’s own protection features, firewall etc)
Then I reinstalled the game, and it’s been working fine now :P
