When I play the game I usually get a standard ping (around 70 to 90), but then suddenly, and especially in Verdant Brink, my ping will spike and get anywhere between 600 and 5,000. Needless to say, this make the game completely unplayable when you have to watch enemy tells and dodge/block them. I get lag spikes in other zones too but it’s not as bad. Anyone else is having that issue?
About my system, it’s running Windows 10 Professional. I’m situated in Eastern Canada. Windows language settings is French-Canadian but I’m playing on US server with the game set in English.
The game says it’s fully downloaded so the lag does not appear to be related to mass downloading.
I tested with another MMO (World of Warcraft) and it runs just fine with no lag spikes at all, so I believe my computer and its settings are fine and that the issue is Guild Wars 2 related.
I can also say that I have been experiencing this long before Heart of Thorns, but it has always been tolerable until now so I didn’t bother.
