Ive been thinking of getting a mac book pro 15-inch: 2.3 GHz and I am not sure if it can run Guild Wars 2. Ive looked at the requiremnets and think it can run it but I am not very good with computers. Can someone please tell me if it will?

The 15inch has enough power to run the game fairly well. You’ll find that you’ll get better performance if you run it on Windows via Bootcamp instead of OSX. If convenience is more important to you, the OSX client should still run well enough though.

Pretty sure that all new macs have high enough specs to run GW2 just fine.
My MBP is almost a year old and I can run GW2 with the highest available settings with decent FPS (At least with FPS that doesn’t bother me).
The only thing worth noting is that the fans will run most of the time while you’re playing, thats kind of unavoidable playing on a laptop though.
(Also going to have to disagree with the person above. I’ve seen nothing to suggest that it actually runs better in windows/through bootcamp)

The 15" will play GW2 just fine. I play on a 2012 13" MBP with no sacrifice to performance if I adjust some of the video settings a bit. So, your experience with a dedicated video card should be much better. Enjoy!
(Ditto the reply above. My experience in the native Mac client is no different, perhaps even better than Windows 7 via Bootcamp)

There are several threads on this board going into the technical details on this, so I’ll keep it short: if you see better performance on OSX than on Windows, that means your Windows performance is somehow crippled and not performing at 100%.
There is no native OSX client, what you’re playing is in fact the Windows client, with an additional translation layer wrapped around it to make it run in OSX. That translation layer costs extra performance, and especially on older systems, leads to significantly worse performance.
So if you’re seeing better performance on OSX right now, you could see even better performance on Windows if you remove the brakes. Not to mention that you can’t even access some high-end options unless you run on 64bit Windows.

New or used system? If it’s the new model, keep in mind the 2.3 only has a 512 GPU card, and by spending a few extra hundred bucks you’d go up to 1GB. If it’s a used model, what processor is it sporting and ram type?
