Guild Wars 2

I am purchasing a new laptop, but I want to make sure before I spend all this money, especially with the new story coming out soon, that this laptop will be able to run it smoothly. Right now, playing any living story (Silverwaste and Dry Top) is a jumpy mess. Thanks in Advance for any guidance.

I have this one and in pve and dungeons its about 95 fps on ultra , In tequatl its about 30fps and in pvp its 95-100 , dunno about wvwvw cause i dont play
havent seen any thermal throttling yet but the vent is in a bad position so i suppose it will happen eventually

Yeah that’s allright. I have almost same specs, just a GTX970M but 8GB of RAM. I usually have 70fps (if I don’t limit the fps) with many things on High/Ultra. For my personal comfort, I usually limit the fps to 60 or 30 to limit heat.
But no doubt it will run the game smoothly.

Thanks! How do you check the fps while playing? Curious to see what my husbands computer gets compared to my dinosaur.

Press F11 to bring up the settings menu, the FPS is displayed in the bottom right of that menu

Or use any program/app that displays FPS while in-game (whatever game you are playing). I use Game Booster.

Thanks! On my computer in Dry Top it is FPS 4/5 LOL!!! I usually just play PVE and can get by… just checked that area, my FPS in the teens! Can’t wait to get my new computer! It will take gaming to whole new level! I probably will be able to do jump puzzles so much easier! haha I game with my husband, he will be so happy when I can actually keep up now!
