Getting a new latop
Only thing that concerns me is you picked an amd cpu. Gw2 doesnt seem to run very well on them.

Actually I didn’t lol….I am getting it for free
Free stuff is always good :p

yup so other than a possible problem with running well, everything else is fine?
Its difficult to say. I would say about 30-40 fps on a laptop but it could be lower or slightly higher. Only way to know for sure is try it and let us know.

alright thanks
Hey bud! :D
That computer should be fine!
It may not be top end, but if you choose “best performance” on the Graphic Options in game, I find this game does a good job of choosing what’s best—keeping you smooth as silk.
I wanted to ask about the AMD comment however. I built my computer, and everything inside is AMD (Motherboard, CPU, Graphics), and Asus. As I look at my 8 cores—multithreading this game, they all remain less than 30% usage, and my graphics have zero problems. With an AMD computer not as powerful, I have high doubts it would be a problem.
Congratulations on your free computer BCDragon, see you in game. :D
Edit:
For fun I attempted to put Best Performance settings with my computer, it puts everything as high as it can be lol.

Doesnt really matter how many cores you have. AMD processors are just slower than intel.

Well I just saw this http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-7520G.71728.0.html
There’s a gw2 comparison as well.

I’ll quickly mention that I’m not trying to turn this into an AMD vs Intel thread.
If you wish to compare AMD multithreading applications to Intel, throw me a private message! :)

Dont have to. Check this link for comparison between intel processors vs amd processors on GW2. http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1186616-Guild-Wars-2-CPU-and-GPU-Benchmarks

Actually GW2 loves intel cpus :P http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/guild-wars-2-performance-benchmark,3268-7.html
Even the dual core SB beats the AMD FX 8 cores. AMD went behind when the Core 2 was released and hasn’t been able to catch up with intel hopefully with the changes in AMD we could see some improvements.

I wouldn’t trust any of those benchmark scores. Given the present performance issue(s) people are having they will likely not mean a thing in a month…

Well given the recent patches I still think gw2 is “optimized” for intel CPUs vs AMD.

The reason the benchmarks show BD score so low, is because Windows 7 doesn’t recognize the architecture, therefore can’t place the threads in the correct order for best efficiency. This should be better with Windows 8.

Interestingly enough, I’m planning on trying windows 8 as soon as it finishes downloading. Actuall, I’m going to wait until they figure out what’s wrong with the performance profiling first though, so I can submit a profile under windows 7. Don’t want to steal that opportunity away from them…
That’s weird though, I though Win 7 and Win 8 have almost identical configs and I thought MS already patched the issue regarding AMD CPUs on Win 7?
Edit : Btw I’m using Win 8 performance wise I’m only seeing faster boot no game improvements or whatever vs win 7.
