So currently there is a gold spammer on Sea of Sorrows in Lion’s Arch map chat that won’t shut up.

They’ve randomly generated letters and numbers at the beginning and end of their posts to break the game’s anti-spam mechanics.

Ignoring them only shuts them up for a few minutes as they change account to do it some more.

Reporting them sees no immediate action.

So now the anti-spam to prevent gold seller spam is no longer working. Can we have it removed for us actual players?

It’s free trial weekend. Same happened last trial. After Monday they will be gone again. As long as a free trial is going on, once they get banned they are back two minutes later.

The gold seller spamming in GW2 isn’t to bad compared to other games. in FF14 90% of the time in starting towns so far is gold sellers talking. and hardly can go 20min without getting a whisper to buy gold from xx site.

I’ve never witnessed any kind of gold spamming this entire weekend on one of the more populated servers…

Report and block. Then forget about it.

Never saw it on Aurora Glade. As others said report it each time.

I not seen a gold seller in a long time. Even in games that where out for 6 year + i saw more gold seller and bots then i do in GW2.

I can confirm they were they on Sea of Sorrows Yesterday afternoon and they would not go away . Map chat was flooded with it. Blocked and reported , it was the first time I had seen one in ages

Sad side effect of trial accounts.

Ahhh that would be why, the free trial. They showed up on Tarnished Coast this weekend too.

What he said ^^^^. If gold sellers want to spam they will find a way to do it, so, the anti-spam filter needs to be removed and let the players deal with them by reporting and blocking so us legit players can send out messages without being suppressed. Totally stupid idea of suppression.

If reporting a player for selling gold also blocked them at the same time, I would be soooo happy
If 20 unrelated (never contacted each other and not in the same guild) people reported a player for selling gold, then the system auto-muted that account for 24 hours, I would be soooo happy

it happens, i just report and block then carry on my merry way.
