I already filed a ticket, but I just want to see if others are having this issue as well. Last night, I log off and had over 20 gold. Today, I log in to find I have 9 gold. I check my transaction logs in the Auction House and see nothing out of the ordinary. I send my ticket in and logout. I log back in a few hours later to get my daily reward and check the dailies and now I’m down to 8 gold. I’ve changed my password for both my account and my email before logging off the second time. I’m just wondering if this is an issue that is affecting other players. Kinda afraid to log off again in case I lose gold to some glitch in the system. ^^;

If it was a bigger some of money I would say Anet had suspicions that it came from gold sellers and removed it from your account.

Have you received any gold within say the last 3 months from a friend?

Do you have any pending transactions/for sale items on the trading post that could be incurring a transaction fee?

No on either. The last transaction I made was at an NPC today to see if was a graphical glitch. Before, I had purchased 10 Jar of Harpy Pheromones and 1 Harpy’s Love. I also believe I had sent a single gold to someone for help they gave in a JP. Otherwise, I’d sell trash to vendors and that’s about it. Also, when I log in again, I went from 9 gold to 8. Going to log off and wait to see if it happens again. Weird.

Maybe you sent that person 11 on accident. That would make some sense.

Yes, but the next time I logged in AFTER discovering the missing gold, I lost another gold. I’m not saying that I didn’t make a mistake, maybe I did, but losing gold again is weird, especially after I had changed my passwords. Guess I gotta wait to hear back from ANet then.

If you were hacked, it’s unlikely you’d be losing 1g at a time; they tend to take all of it or do things more subtly so you don’t suspect anything. (The latter is very unusual.) In all the reports I’ve ever seen (here or on Reddit) about “losing gold”, I have yet to see any example that it’s actually happened in game. To date, it’s always turned out to be user error, removal of RMT gold, a ‘friend’ or child sharing the account, or hacking (and that’s always been everything removed).

There’s a first time for everything, of course and this could be it. Still, it’s most likely that there’s something you have done to spend the money without realizing it.

Okay, then perhaps that’s the case. Guess I kinda freaked when I saw all my gold missing. Well, thanks anyways.

Well, I’ve talked to support and turns out I’m an idiot. I spent money on other things and wasn’t paying attention. Thank you everyone for your assistance, I’ve learned a little lesson here. Also changed my passwords so stuff is more secure (I’ve probably needed to do that for a while now.) I’ve changed the topic to resolved. Thanks again.

Excellent.

Do not feel bad. It is easy to spend in game money and not notice. I can do that very easily in real life.
