I appreciate more actions to be taken from Arenanet against this particular goldsell company.
Yesterday and today i get an ingame whisper, offering me to buy gold and items for real money. I reported them, but it gets very personal nowdays when they are starting to whisper me in private chat.

Block and report. That is what will be most effective. =)

It’s not effective, they create a new account…due to whispering me two days in a row. And yes i block them and report them.

My guess is not a newly created account, but a hacked one sadly

They are most likely doing all they can.
The thing is that they can’t just blindly ban everyone just because someone reports them.

They can’t just autoban based on someone’s report. ^^ Each report of a hack, gold seller, bug, abusive language, name that breaks TOS or whatever else people decide to report, like the guy that salvaged one ecto and contacted support trying to get a refund, all go to people who are working in support. No doubt these reports go into separate piles but there are a lot of them continuously streaming in. Each one requires someone to investigate and respond and the more difficult one can take hours to resolve. It just takes time to get to any one report.

The problem is when they ban gold whispering accounts the gold sellers just get more and it doesn’t really do anything in the long run.

What they should do is instead track down the gold transferring accounts; shouldn’t be too hard to track down accounts sending large amounts of gold in the mail to seemingly random people. Once you identify these accounts and ban them remove the gold from the accounts it was transferred to and probably give said accounts a temp ban, like 1 week or something.

This would pretty much eliminate their repeat customers since they would end up just losing their money and as word gets out many of their first-time customers would also be discouraged.

Another possible solution that could be used in tandem is if these gold sellers are amassing massive amounts of gold rather than spreading it across accounts you could track them down through all the gold transfers to them and close them, thereby eliminating large portions of their inventory and possibly putting them out of business.

What annoys me is when the gold sellers not only Private Message you, but have the audacity to accuse YOU yourself of buying gold – so it discourages players to report them.

‘You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide’ is a quote that comes to my mind however (from Harry Potter I think?) and I report them XD I don’t care what cheater’s think, and I don’t want to give them the time of day by replying to them either. They want to intimidate others by accusing them of something they’ve never done, they will get the full wrath of me

Just report and block them. Anet has logs to see if you got sent large amounts of gold or not.
