Q:
Graphic Glitches
Check your system temps while running the game (after 15 minutes), in particular, your GPU and CPU.
This is a fantastic program for it:
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Post a screenshot from that for us to view.
so i cant seem to find the saved copies when i choose that option, teach me to pay more attention
but instead i figured it was worth doing even if i just monitored the numbers myself
I’ve noticed that not much changes from Idle to GW2,
readings under my ECS Nettle3 motherboard:
CPU VCORE 1.104V
Temperatures range from 71 degrees to 147 degrees F (+/- 1/2)
2 Fans (cleanly labeled 0 and 1) sit at a base 3600 RPM (FAN0) and 1800 RPM (FAN1) when the revving goes off, both can increase by over 600 RPM to 1200 RPM
FAN PWM at 50%
readings under my AMD Phenom processor:
all 4 core temperatures sit at 150 degrees F (+/- 1/2)
my NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
-1.010V
-161 degrees F
-FAN PWM at 60% (i dont actually know what this means, but i figured it was worth mentioning)
I also attached a screenshot of my feeble attempt to zone into Lion’s Arch on the Sorrow’s Furnace server, you can clearly see my Shortbow floating mid air, where my character should be. Also, the Mystic Forge should be looming overhead in front of me, however it too is missing. I waited about 5 mins for it to catch up, but ended up noticing that i was unable to move, but did see some characters running by, at least until they got far enough, then disappeared again. then after becoming increasingly annoyed, i took the shot, and here I am.
What you’re describing doesn’t sound (or look) like a graphics card issue.
The more active the area – the longer it takes for your processor to send the data to your graphics card. It seems (to me) to be a network/latency issue OR some program is really tying up your CPU or hard drive.
Please post back and attach a Game Advisor report:
https://help.ncsoft.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7386/~/game-advisor-diagnostic-report
I agree with Abomally, now that I see your issue, this doesn’t seem like a graphics glitch.
so, as i sit right now, i have the test report, but i am unable to post the attachment or add the text in this post
is there any part of the report i should target, ill copy it here, but so far i cant get the whole of it on here

If you can export as a .txt, you can use the more posting & formatting options below to attach it. Like for your image
here, a wordpad copy that im hoping will work!

You said you have a recent driver, but your file says otherwise, I would download this driver:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/64632
and give it a test run.
I would make sure your graphics card is not overclocked in any way. Make sure it runs at stock clocks. If you don’t already have software that monitors your GPU, then I recommend getting MSI’s Afterburner to investigate the clock speeds. You can find Afterburner here:
http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

Are you connected to your Internet through a USB wireless device?
I also see a few connection issues in the diagnostic with some packet loss. It’s actually not even posting the routing path, unless you cleared that.
Perhaps try connecting to your modem directly and testing it, or you can try this also:
https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8994/~error-codes
Almost any code will show you which ports need to be open. I use QoS rather than port forwarding.
Let us know how you go after trying the suggestions posted Ilithis and myself.
It’s just what I thought. You are losing packets connecting to A-nets servers.
The log shows the following:
Lost/Sent = Pct
23/ 100 = 23%
19/ 100 = 19%
20/ 100 = 20%
16/ 100 = 16%
14/ 100 = 14%
27/ 100 = 27%
…etc.
Being that you are wireless, it could possibly be interference. It could also mean that something is wrong with your network or even that somewhere along the route to A-net’s servers the packets are dropping. Either way, that’s your main problem.
Also, I noticed this address present in your network (which is a bit unusual since your main network starts with the 192 octet):
10.34.32.1
Addresses starting with the 10 octet are also reserved for lan addresses (i.e. NOT internet), so it’s a local device or maybe a router configuration issue.
Also, you have an infection according to several internet sites, called “Sweetpacks Toolbar”. You should remove it. Here’s some info on how to do that:
http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-sweetpacks-toolbar/
Now, there’s one more thing that would be a good idea to do. You should really disable a lot of unneeded startup programs with MSCONFIG to make sure they aren’t also causing a problem by “flooding” your network connection:
http://www.howtogeek.com/74523/how-to-disable-startup-programs-in-windows/
After doing those things, try GW2 again. If the issue isn’t resolved, post back and we can reset your network configuration. It’s easy and quick to do.
Edited to add:
For Windows Vista (and beyond) the AMD Dual-core optimizer is obsolete and not needed. It may even cause problems. Uninstall it.

Technical Support
Hi Gellus – Thank you for providing us with the Game Advisor report! I love this report, I really do. It gives so much info to go off of for troubleshooting which is really great, particularly in tricky cases.
Anyway in addition to some of the other suggestions here, I’d recommend a DirectX update. The first link will provide you with the June 2010 redistributable which will force Windows to update Direct X. I provided this link below:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 (download and run this first)
Once installed, please use the following link to install all material post June 2010 for Direct X. Again this link is provided below:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 (download and run this 2nd)
Please be sure to save the file to your Windows desktop. Then create a new folder on the desktop and extract the DirectX files into it. Once they have been extracted open the new folder and use the DXsetup file to install DirectX.
Thank you all for the suggestions, ill get to work on them, esspecially the DirectX update and maleware removal(actually i already did this, it was Internet Explorer Toolbar 4.8 installed on 7/6/13. its funny, i dont remember downloading anything, and i sure as hell dont remember using IE at all :P)
i hope to update soon with good news!
Thanks again!
So, i have disabled a lot of startup programs, updated DirectX and dusted out the tower. so far everything has been working better! GW2 still does have some glitches, mainly those random black/white lines blinking across the screen. However annoying, theyre fairly minor and rare when set for Best Performance. I dont think i could get better until im able to upgrade, so until then i would like to Thank you all for the recommendations, they helped a lot!!
