Guild Wars 2

Ever since I changed my graphics card from an NVIDIA to AMD R9 280x not long ago I’ve noticed some strange graphical issues…

I was wondering if this is happening for anyone else and are there any solutions to this?

These are some of the things i saw over approximately ten minutes of gameplay about 30 minutes ago xD

Had the same thing happening on my 280x toxic version, ended up sending it back and getting it changed, new one seems ok so far! Think that last one had issues with the memory/ overclock speeds on it.

Did you completely uninstall the NVIDIA drivers before you installed the AMD drivers also did you check the NVIDIA web site for updated drivers. What OS are you using if it’s Windows 8 good luck it may not be an issues with the card but with windows 8 and the drivers.

I believe it’s a driver issue after doing some testing; I’ve been getting the same graphical issues but only in this game.

The OS I’m using is Windows 7 and it is true that is only this game having some weird graphical issues. I guess I’ll check and reinstall drivers sometime xD

Just to give and update; After this months round of Microsoft windows updates and Dec. 10 gw2 update, I have not seen any graphic corruption in game. I think while reading the Microsoft windows update information page, one or two of the updates had to do with 3d application (games). Are you guys still having problems?

Which updates are we talking about?
I still had these issues yesterday, but I realized it’s not just Guild Wars 2 doing it.
It’s just the most noticeable.
I’ve seen some weird stuff happening in Battlefield 4 and even Dota 2.

I’ve clean installed my drivers twice.
Not sure what is wrong with it though.

I don’t have Bf4 or Dota 2 so I can’t comment on those. I have played the Witcher 2 (enhanced Edition) with ubersampling to really stress my card. Also I played RO2, Sins of a Solar Empire, Men of War, Fallout New Vegas, and even ran the unigen benchmark at 1600p both dx9 and dx11; no graphics corruption was produced by any of the mentioned games.

I just find it funny that it’s doing it in Battlefield 4 when it is meant to be AMD supported and it didn’t do it with my NVIDIA xD

Tested it right now and it’s not doing it as bad at the moment but it is doing one of the other things where some things on my screen are pixelated eg. random pixelised squares appearing on my screen in random places.

Just wanted to chime in and confirm these bugs. Running R9 280 Toxic.

Just to update you guys, I was looking at the Newegg reviews for my Asus r9 280x and one user stated that he had the same issue and what fixed it for him was to use the drivers from Asus’s website and not the ones from AMD’s website (caused texture curruption for him).

I tried this and I have not encountered the texture corruption yet, but I am still testing.
