What the HELL is up with that. In pvp, everybody is getting FIVE secondes lagspike every minutes/or are getting disconnected straight up. It’s becoming QUITE annoying.
I’ve even had some weird issue where my character suddenly doesn’t folow my camera anymore (meaning it will simply run where he is facing, in a straight line even though I’m moving my camera around, for exemple). And when that happens, well it’s UNPLAYABLE, simply put.

Either you’re getting DDOS’d h/24 and there’s nothing to do about it or FIX IT . It’s been like that for about 3 weeks and it’s only getting WORSE. Do you plan on doing anything? ANY info really?

It was unplayable yesterday evening.
I live in holland and the lag was so horrible, i logged of.

2 disconnects during teq, lagspikes and so on.
No fun in hitting your keboard with nothing happening.

I think internet traffic in EU is only working at 58%

So it might be a reason why we have lag spikes that prevent us from enjoying the game…

Well been experiencing lag spikes every now and then, although nothing too bad. But I’ve not been playing too much pvp either so maybe that’s a bit subjective.

I have had a lot of lag in PVE for last couple a weeks. Fractals have been pretty bad too, long lag spikes and someone gets disconnect almost every run. Yesterday was really bad, up to 10 second lag spikes while doing open world content and many others were complaining on map chat too.

Seems like ArenaNet simply doesn’t have enough server capacity and bandwidth to offer good experience during most popular playing hours.

Its a sad fact that its indeed a problem tied to specific ISP´s, at least those who manage those important connection nodes / routers. Here in germany, if you have the Deutsche Telekom as your ISP, sometimes every other day GW2 will lag during prime time. i KNOW for a fact its related to this ISP because all the lag is gone if i use a VPN / proxy service to reroute or “stealth” my traffic. the same happens with youTube and video loading speed. Without using a VPN / proxy, sometimes i cannot even watch 360p videos without buffering, but if i use VPN / proxy, 1080p loads faster than i can watch. Interestingly though, advertisements dont load slow. And when chatting with the Deutsche Telekom, they say it´s not their fault but my hardware.

Anyways, i can only suppose the following to anyone who have a laggy experience from time to time but their connection itself is in a healthy state: look up “Pingzapper”. Free to use as long as you accept to have a connection reset every 60 minutes (which is better for me than random DC´s or heavy lag spikes during battles and duels). If Pingzapper resolves your problem, its definitely a problem tied to your ISP or the one who manages certain connection nodes / routers. if Pingzapper does not resolve your problem, then its most likely a problem tied to your connection quality or ArenaNet´s servers are going wonky.

Sounds like the ISPs in question are throttling or have their throttling profile messed up (if it only happens during peak hours).

Information like the image Beldin shows needs to be presented to your ISP with demands for them to do something about it. YOU are their customer, not NCSoft or Anet.

It not the first time that happens .. first time was shortly after the release, at that time
i used a free VPN that sadly is not available anymore. Then a year later we had the same
for a while.

I simply get used to the fact that the traffic in the internet get constantly higher, and at
some point there are some hubs that needed to be upgraded .. but that always takes
some time ..

But people simply don’t understand the internet .. i wish they need to make a driver license for it

If there is a traffic jam in Los Angeles nobody says things like : Nooo that can’t be possible .. i can drive to Chicago without a problem .. call Ford / GM .. your car must be the problem.

I play on the EU server from the US and I haven’t experienced much issue outside of the ones caused by my connection(I have a wireless connection so weather can make things pretty bad).

I see the lag meter on my IRC client every time I alt+tab to it so I am probably more aware of my connection’s issues than most people. The lag meter is also based off of pings to a different location than the GW2 servers which I think is slightly more useful for determining if the problem is on the GW2 end of things.

presenting them tons of direct evidence doesnt do kitten, seriously. I tried it. multiple times. The response is always the same: Its my hardware, its not their fault, or they don´t see any problems in their metrics.

There is a reson why Deutsche Telekom has the nickname Drosselkom: they actively throttle down stuff which causes too much traffic or because the company which brings the content which causes the traffic doesnt want to pay. YouTube is one of them. i don´t know though why in hell GW2 gets throttled as well. Fact is, there is nothing one can do about it besides changing their ISP – and where i live, only Deutsche Telekom and resellers offer DSL connections.

As a person living in the US playing on EU, I hope every single employee at Time Warner Cable falls rear-first into a factory of nails. I hate them all and their throttle-happy satanism.

Another day, another laggy experience. For a lot of people. No big lagspike today but an awful lot of lag overall. The game just feels more and more blurry. I make sure to ask the other 9 people I’m playing with every time and it simply looks like it affects, if not everybody, the majority of the players.

I seriously hope you have SOME kind of plan with the upcoming patch because otherwise, the “hype” will be pretty short as my gaming experience with your game will remain ruined with your kitten poor servers.

Just was doing Jormag.. and server lagged so bad kicked me off.. now I can barely even get on the site.

Had the same issue last night. Not funny.

Weird thing was that my GF sat right next to me, connected to the same LAN, being in the same zone (Riverside frontier) and had precisely NO lag at all.

How is this even possible?!
