So I want to know how I am to go about resetting the password on my GW1 account.

I decided to recover the account which hasn’t been played in years so I can attach it to my GW2 account. So I fire up the game client and lo and behold it says the password reset functionality has been available and to check the support forums for further information. So I checked the GW1 support forums where there is no information whatsoever and not having my password I cannot post a question. So since I know the password issue has something to do with the account hacking in GW2 I have come here to pose my question.

How am I supposed to reset the password on my GW1 account so I can link it to my GW2 account?

I had to make an account through NCSoft before it would let me make a GW1 account. Through my NCSoft “Master Account” I can click “I forgot my password” and it sends me a new one to my email. Do you just have the GW1 game client via a CD? Have you tried going to NCSoft and making an account with them and adding your GW1 account to it? I’m not sure if the latter is possible, but giving it a try wouldn’t hurt.

I’ll take a look at it, this account is 7 years old and hasn’t been played in 6 I dl’d the client, I don’t have my disks anymore and thus dont have my serial key so I beleive I will be unable to make a ncsoft account. Thanks for the tip though I’ll give that a go.

If you don’t have the cds you may be out of luck. I’m a packrat so had my cds so was able to email my serial code and what I thought the email was as well as the other info and they reset my password for me.
