Guild Wars 2

Several Issues:

- My old PlayNC account was registered in 2007 for Guild Wars 1 under the same exact email that I use for Guild Wars2. It’s reported as “linked” in my account settings, but I’m no longer able to login to the NCSoft/PlayNC account page because it tells me my account no longer has any games associated with it?

That’s a shame- because I had a maxed out Aion character and several Guild Wars characters. Well – it must be linked properly right? Last night I install Guild Wars and login only to find that none of my purchased expansions, minis, skills, or characters are there. It’s a blank demo account.

Additionally, My mini rytlock was claimed on a character on Aspenwood when GW2 released.. That character is no longer there, but the rytlock isnt on any of my new characters available minis. Can you please send me another one? I had no idea this was a one use single character pet – which seems strange considering there are Bind on Account pets in the game. Confusing and irritating that I spent money on the collectors edition to lose the one thing i wanted…

GW1 accounts where your username was in the format username@plaync or @ncsoft weren’t actually linked to a specific email address. They were linked to a master NCSoft account which was linked to an email. When linking your accounts, you would have needed to enter your GW1 username, not your email. You should still be able to login to your GW1 account using your original GW1 login info. You must have had a trial account registered to your actual email.

ArenaNet dropped support for NCSoft’s account management quite a while ago and linking GW2 should have no effect on your other games. NCSoft’s account management has also gone through changes. They originally used an account name whereas now they use your email. Perhaps you are logging in to the wrong account?

You will need to contact support to unlink your GW2 account and to request your lost mini. I would assume you should make 2 separate tickets.

When I try to login to guild wars 1 with my original login information it says: “your login must be an email”. My account was username@plaync. I was able to reset all that account info on the NCSoft website but when i try to login it kicks me out and says: “these games are no longer associated with this account” or something like that – a default message i guess all users get.

Im not sure how to move forward. guild wars 1 doesnt let me login on the website OR in the game.

(Is it normal for NC Support to take days?? Or not respond at all?)

To verify, you have tried logging in through account.guildwars2.com using your original GW1 login details? They merged GW1’s account management with GW2 back in December and it is suggested that @plaync/ncsoft accounts be updated with actual emails.

As for support, they’re currently busy due to the sale and announcement of the expansion. GW2 Login issues are being prioritized. GW1 support is only a small part of GW2 support, so response times may be even worse if you’re looking for GW1 related help.

Thanks for your help Healix. It looks like trying to log in with my GW1 credentials doesnt work, it keeps asking me to use my original email – which of course is the same as my GW2 account
