Guild Wars 2 keeps crashing nVidia driver.
The problem is still the driver. It may only be that GW2 uses DirectX calls that those
other programs don’t use, but if the driver crashes it is a problem of a bad driver.
And from my personal experience NVidia is famous for releasing crappy drivers, and
i spent many days testing different drivers the last time i had and NVidia card.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Yes, I said the driver is crashing. OBVIOUSLY it is the driver. But GUILD WARS is the cause. IT is doing something to cause the driver to fail. NOTHING ELSE I USE causes it, except Guild Wars 2.
Yes, and i already said that those other programs simply don’t use a specific DirectX function that GW2 uses.
However, should GW2 or any other company always ask NVidia if they have a DirectX function proper implemented in their newest drivers, and not change their gamecode just because NVidia releases again crappy drivers ?
I remember years ago i always got bluescreens in Age of Conan, that also only happened when i used shader 3.0 and only when there were some specific blue glowing effects at walls or from the necromancers golem.
It didn’t happened that often if i uses drivers 164.x instead of the newest 170.x but took me weeks of testing to find that out so far.
Oh, and later in Runes of Magic the support even took my tip and gave them as official answer : if you have problems with NVidia .. use 164.x drivers.
Oh .. and btw.:

Ever since 2 patches before the expansion I have been having a issue with Diablo and my graphics Driver. Every 10-15 minutes my display driver will crash, my screen goes black and it takes 2 seconds for the display driver to recover.

There is not a huge number of players reporting this type of failure (which would be the case if GW2 was CAUSING driver crashes). Your assumption is based on your limited information and (IMO) is just a wrong one.
If you roll back the driver, do you get the failure?
My point is the assumption that this is definately a driver / software issue might be premature and incorrect. Hardware failures CAN cause drivers to need to recover as well. So can corrupt DLL file libraries.
Have you checked your event log for errors that might just lead to the REAL problem here?

Look at what I said above. This is G U I L D W A R S 2 causing the driver to crash. I have many games on my system, NONE OF WHICH CAUSE THIS ISSUE. I have lots of media software, and other apps (emulators, etc), none of which cause this issue. I updated my driver LAST NIGHT, and have had ZERO ISSUES with any other piece of software, except Guild Wars 2. On the previous version of the driver I used (336.??), likewise, no issues, but Guild Wars 2 would crash the driver. If this was a hardware issue, I would be getting crashes from other software as well. And I don’t need to roll back. Last night I was on 336, which was working 120% for EVERYTHING except Guild Wars 2. I updated to the latest driver hoping it would solve this issue, and the issue persists.
Display 1: ASUS VG248 144hz 24" 1920×1080 LCD
Display 2: Philips 47PFL5704D/F7 47" 1080p 120hz HDTV
I see two different refresh rates at the same time. Maybe a bug in GW2 doesn’t like it or your graphics card doesn’t like it.
Try running GW2 with one monitor or the other instead of both at the same time.

I have been running dual display for almost a decade. I never had any issues in the past running dual display with GW2. Also, while the monitor is 144hz, I am using a program called Strobelight that basicly allows me to “hack” my monitor, allowing me to use 3D Lightboost in 2D mode, which basicly eliminates motion blur. To do this, it has to run at 120Hz.
Since I have gotten ZERO help from the either forum, guess I will have to uninstall the game. Enjoy playing, but crashing every 5-15mins is getting on my last kitten ed nerve.
