Guild Wars 2 on my new pc
Short answere. No.
WvW cant be played without low FPS on laptop, no matter how much u spend. mainly becouse laptop CPU’s cant be OC’d unless ur ready to do major customisations to it urself.
The best u can do is get the fastest clocked Intel i7 u can find. Usualy the choices r between a 3720QM – 3740QM – 3820QM -3840QM – 3920XM – 3940XM. In a few rare casses laptops can come with desktop CPU’s like the i7 3820 (non QM), desktop CPU’s would be faster, but generaly its hard to find a laptop with them in.
GPU wise u want DDR5 gpu’s. Sugest atleast a 660m.
Graphics settings in GW2 are not the problem so u can get away with a lower teir GPU, WvW however requirs a strong CPU and it wont matter what setting u run it at. If u dont want ‘low fps’ in WvW and u need a laptop then u best be prepaired to pay throug hthe nose, even then u will still get sub 30 FPS in large battles.

I’d agree with solarnova if you must get a laptop, you want a gtx 660m or higher because anything lower than that wont let you play most modern games with acceptable frame rates. As for the cpus I dont know how powerful the Ivy mobile ones are but I would not expect much performance in WvW zergs because eventually you will be facing overheating related performance issues unless you buy a laptop designed for gaming.
Indeed
If u can get a Desktop CPU powered laptop that would be better since the desktop CPU’s will run all its cores at its max clock, unlike laptop cpu’s that only run max clocks on 1 or 2 cores, when all cores r in use they generaly downclock so they dont overheat.
But as i said, they r a PITA to find, and can cost alot.

First of all, thank you for answer.
for solar nova:
if in your opinion my pc can run wvwvw with less than 30 fps in large battle (20-30fps) it will be enough for me! I really dont need to reach 50-60 fps….
Anyway this cpu is really new and powerfull because of 4 cores and it can reach 3.2ghz per core (…as an expert explained to me).
The mainly problem for me was the gpu… but if you say that the most imporant thing for gw2 is the cpu, there aren’t many problems in my opinion.
anyway in your opinion what is better:
cpu core i5 2.6 ghz dual core cache 3mb L2(3.4ghz turbo boost), (quad core, hyper threading)
or
cpu core i7 2.2 ghz quad core cache 6mb L3(3.2ghz turbo boost), (octa core, hyper threading)
?
Quad physical cores is a neccesity imo.
So i would get the i7 if thats ur only two choices. Though i wouldnt be surprised to see 10-20 FPS in big battles. For that CPU each core offers a base speed of 2.2 GHz but can dynamically increase clock rates with Turbo Boost up to 2.9 GHz (for 4 active cores), 3.1 GHz (for 2 active cores) and 3.2 GHz (for 1 active core) meaning for GW2 ur likely to be running at 2.9ghz. This is why i say get a faster CPU, even the more expensive ones like the 3740QM that clocks to 3.8ghz will only run at 3.5ghz when 4 cores r in use, but thats alot better than than 2.9ghz.
Now taking into account a desktop 3770k at 4.5ghz OverClock can only just keep WvW above 30fps, u can see what i saying about the CPU.
4.5gh vs 2.9ghz (ur current choice) or even 3.5ghz (3740Qm) is a big difference.

ok… so get a good frame rate in wvwvw is such an impossible mission… anyway thank you for help ^^ i was looking for a good price/quality notebook and the one i tell you before was for 620€. If you have any suggestion for good notebook (between 600-800€) please tell me
Hello i have an update:
for about the same price (630€) i found this notebook:
-CPU: Core i7-3610QM (2.3ghz – 3.3ghz quad core)
-GPU: Nvidia 650m 2GB ddr5
-RAM: 8gb ddr3
-OS: win 7 (64bit)
what do you think? this one has a better gpu and a 100mhz more of CPU for about the same price (621€the frist one, 630€ this one).
thank you
I own a laptop with an i7-3610QM CPU and an Nvidia GT630m 2GB; and it runs very smoothly. I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t with that notebook.

Thank you for answer, i have only 2 more questions:
-Can you tell me the exact number of fps you have in lions arch (for exemple) and you setting configuration?
-In your opinion with an i7-3610QM is better a 2GB 650m or also 1GB 650m (always nvidia) is enough?
