Guild Wars 2

So the new update just came out, so I restarted guild wars to download it. It was not downloading though very fast, and when I tried to close the loading screen and re-open it, it never loads.
This has not been a problem at all up until this update.
Here is a picture of what I get.

Yeah, I’m having this problem now. I finally got to log in, but now it says at the bottom “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”

Same, although I let the download run through. It got to maybe 15% before it said “Connection Failed”, then I closed it and came up with the same screen as you did.

Same here. Just started playing the game for the first time about fifteen minutes ago.

Same problem as the OP. Hope they didn’t break the Mac client.

Ah, I just posted a new topic on this with basically the same screenshot haha.. Good to know I am not alone, I hope they fix this soon I want to play the Winter update!

I don’t think it’s just us mac folks. If you look in the winters day thread there are a lot of people having download and connection problems.

Have not played the last 3 weeks due to RL, finally get some time this weekend to find I can’t because of this problem.

Ok if you wait long enough it does seem to come up, almost 15 mins wait for me. Then I find I have more stuff to download after successfully completing the previous update that seems to have triggered the issue.

Yea, mine started to work.

Mine is downloading now.

FIXED! that was scary

mine comes up with a bar that says 100% every so often

looks like they patched it, pretty nifty

They may have just fixed it, I got it to start downloading.
I just had to re-enter my username and password

seems waiting was the fix lol still scary and annoying

I’ve downloaded the update but the game doesn’t seem to start now -.-

finished downloading patch but the game wont play just get a empty grey screen

Let’s allow the development team time to work on this. They’re very diligent with their work, and take their players very seriously.

I already finished downloading the patch.
But, the game won’t work and appear as grey screen.
I will keep waiting on it. Hopefully, the development team fixe it soon!

Mine is having the same issue, Downloaded the patch after waiting for 10 minutes but now it just brings up a new screen for GW2 and then turns the screen a bit blue in window mode, when full screened it’s just a black screen with the GW2 customized cursor.

Finally done with finals and all I want to do is play! FML.

Getting the same problem as ya’ll too. Grey screen, blue screen, black screen, cursor shows up and nothing…ugh.

Go to the thread Gray Screen Solution. Useless posted a fix there that works. No clue how he/she figured it out but works like a charm.
