Guild wars crashing my comp.
I’m having the same issue now as well. Not sure what is causing it but it is GW2 that is crashing my PC. This all just started today. Really hope this goes away as i love this game.
I just recently started having this issue too. I am reluctant to pin it on gw2 yet as I also just recently upgraded nearly all the guts of my pc. I have all current drivers and I play most of the games the op listed as well and haven’t had any issues with them but tonight was the 2nd issue I’ve had with gw2 in the last 2 or 3 days.
both times it was during spvp, can’t remember if it was the same map both times.
the first time my screen went sky blue for a second, then monitor lost signal but still had audio. when it came back my frame rate was very low. I quickly exited back to the mists and everything seemed normal.
tonight I played pve several hours no issues, I’m in spvp for 5 minutes and screen goes black again but this time pc actually reboots. I checked event logs and all that was posted was a kernel power 41 event which from what I understand is pretty much just a “pc unexpectedly restarted or lost power error”
I started crashing yesterday only in guild wars. It could be an hour before it does it or 30 seconds. I believe it could be linked to the new NVIDIA drivers.
Games NOT crashing comp.
Borderlands 2.
Battlefield 2.
Torchlight 2
Deadspace 2These games are having no impact on the performance of my PC. After guild wars kept crashing I went to Borderlands 2 and played for 7 hours with no crash, Battlefield I just played for 2 hours to make sure it was not a by chance scenario. Then after that I went back to GW2 and within 1 min I got a crash.
Anyone else having problems?
Crashing how? Blue screen, black screen, audio freez, whole pc freez, quit to desktop, error message etc etc.
Yes, I have the same issue :/ It’s definitely related to latest drivers
My Crashing seems to come with a Garbled sound and a black screen for about 2 secs then nothing. Get no error messages and have to manually cut power to the PC to cut it back on. Also ran 3d mark vantage to test my graphics card and CPU. Both passed with flying colors. I run a Athlon II X4 645 Processor 3.10 ghz, A Nvidia Geforce 9800 gtx+ graphics card, with 4gb ram.

Same here… was playing with the old NVIDIA drivers (pre 306) and though GW2 login screen told me it was a problem the game ran fine (though FPS sucked) … I didn’t want to use the new beta drivers from NVIDIA so I waited for the full release… once they came out I upgraded.
Now… in black citadel after running around for awhile I start to get this weird garbled grinding sound that starts low and gets louder and then the game crashes to desktop and windows 7 tells me there was an unrecoverable video card driver error. If I start up GW2 again the login screen never shows up and I get a “Guild Wars 2 is not responding” issue. I have to restart the entire PC.
Funny thing is it only seems to be happening in Black Citadel for whatever reason. If I leave that area to somewhere else it doesn’t happen.
Anyhow, here’s to hoping it gets fixed.

Then i sould downgrade your drivers again. Atleast you can play…
Using ATI drivers here 12.9 beta never had a crash before the last patch in gw2 and since the last monday patch i had 2 crash. The game sound loop and i have to close the process.
Its not on nvidia or ati end its the new guild wars patch that cause crash and i believe its related to some sound fix they introduced for surround system audio.
Well, after much testing, the game is playable… the only places that I crash in are the black citadel and in WvW … not sure what the issue is, but I get a grinding sound, and then sound cuts out entirely and after a few seconds the game just crashes to desktop.
Not sure what could be causing it but this began 2 patches ago… and I never had issues before. Anyhow, the problem seems to be some sound related causing a hang in the system and eventually pushing the video card drivers to hang and reset.
As I said before, no other game on my system crashes on me and I can play in any other part of the world in GW2 except black citadel and WvW…
Very odd.
Ive had the same issue, Casued my my system to not respon properly and needed to do a full format.
Sounds very much like Error Code 116 – better known as a inescapable TDR.
downgrade the drivers, and hope its just not a case of the graphics card randomly going bad.
I am having the same issues on a brand new system build, running crossfired overclocked Saphire 7870 video cards, disabling crossfire mode has not made a difference.
then underclock?
