Guild Wars 2

So I have recently decided to come back to GW2 after some time and seem to be having issues downloading the game.

The client will download up until 11377KB and suddenly quit and crash.

Firewalls have been turned off, computer restarted, etc. I can’t seem to resolve the issue.

Is also your antivirus disabled at that point? Some might block the gw2.exe process of putting data in systemfolders (Program Files).

Oh, is the game already installed on your computer? (since you mention you come back to GW2) Should that be the case, you simply have to start the GW2 application (gw2.exe), the launcher will update your game then..

I no longer had it installed. I had reformatted long since then, so it is long gone.

I had even attempted to use my friend’s install discs(previous attempts were digital installs), only to see the exact same result.

As a simple test, make a folder on your desktop, put Gw2Setup.exe in that folder and rename it to Gw2.exe. Try running it.

I’ve got the same problem. GW kept crashing during the update, so I decided to reinstall the whole game. When I try to install the game the same error occurs. Disabling firewall, antivirus etc. didn’t help at all.
I also renamed Gw2Setup.exe and put it into separate folder. It created few files in that folder but crashes didn’t stop.
