Hello,
I recently purchased a Mac Mini and have it hooked up to an Asus hd monitor via hdmi. I’ve noticed that using the hdmi connection seems to be interlacing in full screen mode of playing several games, including GW2. If I take any of these games out of full screen mode, and still play them under the 1920×1080 resolution in windowed mode, it removes the interlacing and everything is crystal clear. I’ve tested this in World of Warcraft and it seems to correct appropriately there, meaning I can play in full screen mode at a resolution of 1920×1080 with no interlacing.
I’ve heard mixed responses to this that it is an issue with Macs and hdmi connections, but have also heard that this is to be resolved by the game client.
Any thoughts, experiences or resolutions with this? Kind of defeats the beauty of the graphic artistry having to play it in pixelated 1600×1200 full screen. Windowed mode isn’t too bad, but is a little distracting with background folders and the desktop interface.
Maybe this is something to add the list for the rumored Mac native client?
