Played from Beta to year 1 got plenty of gems / marketplace items and apparently during the time that I quit playing and restarted all of my items and characters are gone but one! Customer Support says they can’t look back that far but my guild is telling me that isn’t the case. Anyone want to add to this? :O – http://www.twitch.tv/sterling_silver/c/2559858

First off, was your account deactivated when you got on because of “botting, gold selling, etc” and you had to get it back?

If yes, then your account was hacked and they should be able to see that date.

If no, there is a distinct possibility that your chars and items were deleted by someone at your house. A friend, roommate or possibly a sibling could have done this. If this is what happened, Support will not restore your account.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Then I had to go through quite a few steps and the mailing system to unlock my account. I was also told there is a once in a life time account rollback that could be possibly activated

There used to be a policy that if the account was compromised before December of 2012, there was no way to restore the account, as the ART (Account Restoration Tool) had not yet been created. Whether that policy was changed, or not, I’m not sure.

Did you leave before that date?

You will need to update your ticket and continue discussing the issue with the CS Team. Once this thread is moved to the proper sub-forum, you will see a Sticky at the top where you can post your ticket number to have the CS Team Lead take a look, if all else fails.

Remember, though, an account restoration is only offered to accounts that are proven to have been compromised by an unknown third party.

So, you had to contact support and get it restored to you? They should be able to see the date of deactivation and the “snapshot” of the account at that time, unless there are cutoff dates and they only keep things for a certain amount of time.

You need to continue to work with support. If all else fails you can post in the stickied red thread in the account and technical support forum, “Tickets for review, 3 days and older”. See if the problem is that they have a cutoff date for keeping the account snapshot. If that’s it, there is nothing to be done. But be sure to make one last try with your ticket so you don’t waste their time.
