You need to contact customer support, change the password to your email and game password. (Personally, I would change passwords for anything I have stored on my computer as well) I would also check your computer for any viruses and malware to ensure they do not get your newly changed passwords.

they even sold my celestial weapons with no mercy , teaching of the story is to use authenticator i guess GM helped me asap and thank you for that

This is larger than just selling character equipment off and leads me to believe that ArenaNet needs to review their personnel actions and scrub credit card on file information.

Blizzard suffered through a similar “inside action” a few years back.

My son has been inactive for quite some time.

His credit card just experienced a fraudulent charge to Arenanet. He is in the process of submitting a ticket and changing his passwords but if Arenanet is holding account information someone is siphoning that information from inactive accounts.

You are foolish not to use authenticator’s today and never save your passwords for automatic log in.

same thing happened to me yesterday, everything salvaged, all gold gone, all materials, i contacted support, and today my account is deleted

One advice to every one in this game: I’ve NEVER been hacked in any other games i played, and i’m a veteran player of mmo’s.
In this game, i got hacked not ONCE but TWICE.

At the first time, support restored my itens and gold, but, at the second time that i got hacked, i got this response:

“As previously stated, we cannot perform a second restoration. The reason is because it will negative impact the economy of the game.”

Now, i payed for the game, played the game, and now i have to quit the game because of the lack of security that this company offers to custommers.

How can i still playing this game, work to get money and itens again and be hacked for the third time ina few weeks?

The funny thing is that the company can’t even defend itself and players from hacks, but is careful about the “impact in the economy of the game”.

Thanks Arenanet, the WORST custommers service that i ever saw.

I have flagged one post for removal because it’s inflammatory and non-contributory. I feel that I need to present some information on this topic for those posting in or reading this thread.

There are quite a few accounts that require very careful review because more than one person is claiming ownership. The fact that unscrupulous people have access to information that allows them to claim an account they did not buy isn’t something that we can control. We can, however, try to help you deal with this issue. But that takes time, and that’s why these cases are taking longer than normal.

Because each case is different, because the compromise of your personal information is such a sensitive subject, and because posting your understandably-biased opinion about what should be done as opposed to what reasonably can be done is in conflict with the Forum Code of Conduct, I suggest you restrict your conversation to your support ticket and discuss the matter with an agent (or more than one agent) in order to get these things sorted.

If you feel that the outcome of a ticket needs review, post the number and a brief, neutral post in the Tickets for Review thread. There, and only there, please.

I am closing this thread and asking you to be patient and to try to understand the limitations of how much we can do for you, in cases where someone had breached your personal security. These are not game-related issues, per se, in that we have no control over your personal security. However, do be assured we’ll do the very best we can to help you.

Um. I’ve never been hacked in GW2, and I was hacked on my D3 account. And that hack on the D3 account was when Blizzard themselves were hacked and a lot of accounts were vulnerable. Anet has 2 authenticators (email and mobile) that people can use to protect themselves. They also have done a forced password reset back when Blizzard was hacked to ensure people weren’t using the same email and password with their hacked Blizzard accounts. What else would you like them to do? You have to be an adult and realize that this account is your responsibility and protect it yourself. Just like you would with your bank accounts, or email accounts.
