So I took a break from GW2 and was hacked by the Chinese during that break and my account was wiped, though I’m sure you’ve all heard it before. I submitted a ticket but was just wondering, what can ANet actually do about it? Can they refund my items, or more importantly will they? Do they ever refund items? Would I just be better buying new equipment from whatever money I can borrow from friends instead of waiting for them to refund me?

Also, all my miniatures and ascension crafting materials were sold, which is very annoying, can they refund those?

Once it has been determined your account was compromised by a third party, you can request an Account Restoration, which will, in essence, move your account back to a time before the compromise.

It takes a bit of time to investigate each request, but not too long. You can contact CS for assistance. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request.

Note you get ONE restoration total (if it happens again, you will NOT get stuff restored). Due to the single restoration only policy, it is vital that you make SURE you PC, GW2 login and email associated with GW2 account are ALL secure before requesting the restoration. Note that it is EASY for a hacker to compromise your email account (especially if it is a little used account) and keep the compromise undetected. Even if you fee sure your email has not been compromised, you should check any available access logs to be sure.

Also, they do NOT restore anything associated with any Guild resources (as those are not technically part of your account).
