ATI user here.

Had those freezes where screeching sound outta nowhere and screen going black/flickering.

After putting windowed fullscreen ive been playing for 5 hour straight (didnt crash had to take a break heh).

It worked for me as stupid as it sounds but you should try too.

Do you only get the freezes or have you seen errors like “Out of memory” and such?
If so, try turning off “Character animation”

Did you update the latest beta driver (12.7) for ATI?

i just get bsod’s or complete freezes like yours heiska, will try this and report back

No errors but freezes and i said its fixed now with windowed mode wich is super weird.

Bsods are from your graphics card or bad memory stick. Try to do the memtest.

Yeah i know, but window mode isn’t the best fix. Well it’s playable, but a total fix could be awsome. Also for alle the others who has the problem.
But great you found a solution. I will definitely suggest that to others.

An possible fix so you can play in full screen, could be disabling Character Animation, since that have been making some trouble for different people.

Also try dusting off your pc! It’s a common problem. Especially since GW2 makes the CPU and GPU work a lot!

Downclock your cards a little bit (10-20%). This should fix the problem.

Still no crashes.

Character animations low

I’ve done the same thing that Swag have mentioned and it works for me.
But I assumed that it was my Factory Overclocked Graphics card that was causing this problem so i underclocked it back to ‘standard’ edition specs.

Does anyone know why the underclocking is needed tho?

Edited: btw I’m using a Powercolor HD4980 PCS+

Same for me (unless downclock ~20%), especially when using waypoints(aflter map loads). So far I have tested memory(no errors in memtest), psu(changed to new one) and of course gpu (warranty – no errros)
ati 6750 + newest drivers

Could someone try this CAP out and see if it solves the need to underclock?

Nothing changed – still need to underclock.

Darn, guess we’ll still have to wait for a fix.

I get the same on my rig, i’m running a 7850. Thing is its completely random when it shows up, i played 2 full days without any chrashes at all, but today i’ve had 9 crashes so far. gonna try the downclocking thing but if that doesent work i really dont know what to do anymore.

You couldn’t be any more wrong.

They CAN be a cause for a BSOD, but they are most certainly not the cause of ALL BSODs. Try to stop spreading misinformation with such certainty.
