Dear A-net,
First of all: I am enjoying your game very much, great work! That said, I noticed something in the login screen. There is a notification/alert that says: “Hardware issue detected. Click here for details”. When clicked I get recommended to upgrade my Nvidia drivers from 301.42 to 304.79. However, 304.79 are BETA drivers, or at least for my video card (Nvidia GForce 8800GT).
While appreciate you notify people of out-dated drivers, I do not think it would be wise to tell people to upgrade to BETA drivers for obvious stability reasons.
Just putting it out there, I have not had any issues running the game so far so I don’t think it’s a problem. Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Yannick

Quick question Yannick of Avo, what kind of fps do you get and with what rig? I have a similar Graphics card so was just wondering. Thanks.

The nvidia Beta drivers arevery stable and you no longer need to upgrade to the Beta driver. Just download the latest 306 released driver and you will be fine.

The reason why those drivers are recommended is because they include some specific updates/tweaks for GW2. I see your concern regarding beta drivers, but I do not think those drivers are as unstable as the word ‘beta’ may imply.

I ignored them and ran the latest standard drivers Yannick and had NO problems at all. That being said..
Last week nVidia released new stable/tested drivers in preparation for Bordlands 2 and GW2 detection says they are good. So its time to update anyways

@Uberperson, quite good. When I set everything to max I still have 20-30 FPS
@Syrellaris, thanks, will do.
@Creature, I know BETA drivers can be stable but they are still labelled BETA for a reason. I just like to point this because when somebody requires support with BETA drivers, this might become an issue.
@Madmardagan, like I said, even with the old drivers I had no issues. But I will be updating nonetheless.

I’ve been using nVidia beta drivers since I bought a GeForce 3 Ti 500 in 2001, and they are 99% “as stable as” the WHQL versions.
