Guild Wars 2

Greez … Since about 1 week I suffer from heavy lag in GW2 at about 19:00-22:00 pm. I’m alone at home and other games like League of Legends or Starcarft II work perfectly, Teamspeak members also hear me clear and reponse fast with “B” on my call “A”.

So it has to do with GW2. Other GW2 friends don’t have that problem at the said time. So what is it? Can I create somehow a direct port or something? Pls help!!

I’ve been experiencing the samething, the game feels like its being played in slow motion since the lag is so bad.

I’m on the east coast of the usa, where are you guys from?

I’ve been getting the same thing. I live in South Florida and have Comcast as my ISP. I posted some ping/tracert results in this thread:

Wow..this is weird, because i am like halfway across the globe from most of the other players. I am in Jakarta, Indonesia, and i too experience the same problems, lagging like crazy starting around 8pm to around 12am, not sure whether it continues after because i usually just give up and go to sleep.

And it is weird because 8pm here but it must be another time elsewhere but everyone (no matter in usa or eu) experience lag around the same local time.

I experience skill lagging and also latency with npc, when i click on a merchant for example, i can get a waiting reply up to 2 mins.
And when i come close to a portal, even if i turn around and walk away, i am suddenly transported into the said portal.
If i am on high ground, i will suddenly fall and die.
It is very stressful for me, at first i thought it is because i am down here and around 8pm the other players in eu (since i am playing in ruins of surnia eu server) starts playing massively thats why i get this lag. But after reading your replies i am stumped, so i am not the only one…

I have been experiencing this problem as well the past few days in the NA evening, approximately 8PM EST onwards. I looked at the 3 TCP connections the client creates in the resource monitor and the latency of all of them is greater than 250ms. It’s hard to tell if this is a problem with the game servers or network infrastructure, but whatever the case, the game is almost unplayable.

I am actually experiencing this same thing, bad lag in WvW that makes it unplayable due to skill delay and character jumpiness/glitchiness. I am on the east coast in central Florida. It starts around 7-8 pm. I don’t know how to check what causes it, but I know its not my computer, because earlier than 7pm everything is just fine and I get very little lag (intermittently) in WvW. It does go away later at night sometimes, but I can’t tell you when because I don’t have a set schedule that I log on.

I came to this forum hoping to find a fix, but all I have seen is this thread and the other guy’s above who posted the ping info.

I’d like to just state that its not my graphics or fps that are the problem, it is definitely connection related.

Here’s hoping for some type of fix.

If your on cable and you are experiencing lag in a specific time period like prime time for the internet, then it may be the node in your area is bad or failing get your cable ISP to test it. They usually will not do anything even though they can detected that it is bad till someone complains because it cost quite a bit to replace a node. It may take more than one complaint to get them to do anything so check with your neighbors and see if they have had any issues in the same time period. If so have them call in and complain.

I forgot to mention this didn’t start happening until this recent patch. I’ve had lag due to past patches but always only when im near a zerg. This lag always happens in this time frame , even if im no where near a zerg.

Fourth night in a row this has been happening to me like clockwork from around 6PM to 1AM EST. I have pinned it down to what seems to be intermittent high latency with the connection to the game server, spiking to over 250ms, and possibly some packet loss. It’s hard to tell exactly because the connection interface is blocking ICMP request.

My ISP is Time Warner in Nebraska, and I already spoke with a technician who made an inquiry about network outages or high congestion, and he said there were none. I can’t speak about other TW networks, but mine has generally been very reliable with low latency. So this has got to be a problem with Level 3 or ncsoft’s internal network.

Whatever it is, it’s bloody annoying and impossible to play when skill use is lagging up to 2 seconds in an empty zone.
