Hello,

my Game has heavy stuttering/Fps Drops when many Players are on Screen or coming into my Area. When data is loading from HD the framerate drops immediatly. I didnt have this Problem before HOT, even in PVE or WvW.
Now its unplayable. Game settings are Mid, except of Charakter Model is set to lowest/low.
My Specs:
Intel Pentium 3258
Windows 10 64
6gb RAM
Geforce GTX 650ti
I reinstalled my System 3 weeks ago, so HW-drivers are up to date.

Can you help me?
I dont think its because of the Dualcore, because before HOT everything was fine even with HIGH setings in Pve/WvW.
It makes also no difference when Antivirus or other Background Programms are closed, i have already test it.

Hey there! I am having the same problem, After HOT update, i am experiencing drastic fps drops in all areas.

My Specs are. CPU: Intel i5 4690k GPU: R9 390 RAM: 8gb

Though i think that GW2 usually have fps drops after some updates.

If so..they should resolve the issue after a few Patches, as we are still Early into the HOT release.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I’ve had some of the same issues with windows 10 myself. Found something that seems to help my issues a bit. I noticed most of the shuttering i had seemed to be with loading so that led me to think it might be my network adaptor since the drivers are old for Win 10. It wasn’t that but i had the right idea, it seems the defalt Win 10 firewall kind of sucks. So i downloaded Comodo firewall “make sure in install options to opt out of Geekbudy and Comodo browser” and excluded GW2.exe from both Comodo and Avast my antivirus. System overall seems to be running smoother with very few micro shutters.

Seems Win 10 might have latency issues also or isn’t playing nice with some of my old hardware. In command prompt “bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes” seems to be a help also but do not mess around unless you know what your doing

So found some other Issues with Win 10, Seems like other Windows releases the didn’t add the full Direct X files for older versions. Go to http://directx.en.softonic.com/ and update Direct X if the installer says you dont need them your fine. But mine updated a bunch of 9c files " same version the game engine is" and now my issues seem to be gone. So 3party firewall/ Direct X/ Chipset Drivers installed seems to have worked for me

I played yesterday in the Egde of the mists with high settings, and all runs fine. In Big Zerg fights i got normal 15-20 fps but all without stuttering.
In the new maps including the New Borderlands, its just unplayable when lots of players are in the same spot doing events/fighting.
It does not depends if the graphic settings set to low or high , every time when iam moving or looking around, the screen stutters.

@ian
Thanks for posting, but It doesnt help me out.

New maps are more gpu intensive than olders. Make sure the gpu is running at x16.

Ok, after i went to the EotM, because of the kitten micro stutters, i went back and noticed that the stutters where also in the new maps away. I played now few events on high settings without problems. Dont know what was the problem, I hope it doesnt come back.

@Ansau
GPU-z Does it say already, i checked it few weeks ago and now and its normally activated

So problem is still there, but only in the new maps/Borderlands.
I tried dissabling Shader cache in Nvidia driver settings, but it didnt help out.
Gpu-Z is showing 800 Mb Ram using when it begins to stutters.
Other Games running fine, Gw2 is even not crashing. But this is very annoying,,cause
i play lot of wvw.
Prolem is that even on low settings when big zerks come together it stutters when iam moving camera.

I have that problem, I enter the game, play fine, then when i logout and enter later or some other day the game works at 5fps, then i have to restart my computer several times until my fps magically are again at normal rate (30-40) I don’t get what it is, I even format my computer and restart all drivers… it’s so annoying because this didn’t happen before HoT -.-…. Now I cant even play, not even in the older maps.

Soo finaly i found out why GW2 was stuttering. It was just because of the kitten Win10 system Task calling “Superfetch”.
After a while during playing GW2, Win10 is writing endless Data in a cache on the Harddisk.
I dont know what data exactly is it, but System in Taskmanager takes with superfetch almost 1GB System Memory.
And every time Windows was reading the cache, it uses 10%-15% CPU.
And because my Dualcore is 100% CPU usage at Zergfights, it begins to stutter and stocking.
So i disable it in services.msc and now it uses ZERO Cpu power during large and heavy Zergfights. Only FPS are 15-20 FPS, but this is normal, stutter is gone in the Wind.

Nevertheless i want to thank Anet Devlopers for Huge Performance Increase since 2012, i can play GW2 with High settings only with a kitten Dualcore
