I keep dc-ing with this error code (error code 7:11:3:189:101), dc every 30 mins and can’t use chat (for 1 min) after that. I’ve checked some threads but no one could solve this. Anyone know how to -repair on Mac? Thank you.

I was getting errors like this, a lot of errors like this and repairing permissions, nor the install fixed it. Turns out, I was having networking issues. My computer was miraculously swapping networks, going from 5ghz connection to 2.4ghz randomly. My first fix was to rename my 2.4ghz ssid… So it has a similar name, but wouldn’t automatically switch to it unless I re-enter the password. (the one you change depends on your setup, 2.4 ghz is better for larger places with lots of obstacles between you and the router, 5ghz is better for closer connections) This fixed my major disconnect issue that would occur on my MBP when I would disconnect randomly and sometimes when I would unplug my power cable.

My second fix was to allow priority through certain ports on my router.

I used QoS filtering and set these ports to medium or high. This post recommends port forwarding, but I run about 4 computers on my network with 3 of them running gw2 and I couldn’t only have priority on mine.

Now, I don’t know anything about your system, if it’s a laptop, MacMini, or whatever else you could have. I also know nothing else about your connection or ISP or where your modem/router is in relation to your comp, I don’t know if you’re hard wired to your Internet or running wireless, I don’t know if you have a firewall set up or use anti-virus software. So what worked for me, may not solve your problem. There are many variables to your issue that I may be forgetting about.

If your situation might match mine, try my suggestion, if not, try replying with some details that might help others come up with suggestions for you. Also, checking your error logs sometimes help to pinpoint why you’re d/c’ing. Let us know how you make out!

Thanks for replying! I’m using Macbook Pro Mid 2012 with wireless connection via router (Linksys WRT120N by Cisco). I’m so close with the router and not using any kind of antivirus on my Macbook Pro. It was fine before until my ISP changed something within their system or something that made problem with my connection. I want to try your idea, could you please explain it how to set it (router settings) step by step? I only know about http://192.168.1.1/ for router setup. Thanks in advance.

Just now I tried this, http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT120N/Guild_Wars_2.htm
but I’m confused what should I add on ‘To IP Address’ small box? I put 1 but it said can’t use same LAN, I just put 2. Is it right?

I think, if you are the only computer using it, you must use your computers ip address. I don’t know if it is 192.168.1.2, it all depends on your router’s setup. You can find your current ip address by going to system preferences/network/wi-fi/advanced/“tcp/ip”
Your ip address is listed as ipv4. Use that number listed.

However, your router must be using static ip addresses. That is setup under your router configuration page. Login to your router via the address you posted above, on the setup page, go to basic setup. Under Network Setup, you want to DISABLE the DHCP server, then set your computer to one ip address? Now, you may have to do this for every item connected to your router, but make sure each one gets a unique ip. Then move on with the port forwarding that you tried before, making sure to use the ip address associated with your computer.

I cannot guarantee this will work for you! It may break your internet. If this does not work, you definitely have to call your ISP and ask what they changed and if it is relation to any of the ports that gw2 requires. There might be something they can do on their end.

If anyone has any other suggestions, please chime in.

FYI, I do not use port forwarding or static ips on my system. Only QoS, so this is theoretical on my part. Just trying to help using a lot of googling and the linksys website

I’ll try your suggestion, not sure if it’s gonna work or not but thanks for helping me. I’ve contacted my ISP but they don’t want to help because I’m using my personal router, they want me to buy a new router from them first but I’m sure they can’t help me with this dc problem with Guild Wars 2 since they don’t care about their customers. I hope more people will give me more idea/solution to solve this problem..
