High End PC lag...
can you post a dxdiag.txt?
I’m starting to think some of the lag problems, crashes, black screens are all direct x issues.
but I need to do some more reading.
ps I’m considering purchasing the same processor.
More info on the actual problem please.
Do u mean FPS issues, or Intenet Latency issues aka LAG.
if its FPS, then what figures are u see, and where ?
Whats ur GPU and CPU usuage, and what are ur temps at ?

I don’t think it could be internet latency lag, i have fiber optic with 30mbps. I’m getting frame rates that wildly fluctuate between 20-60 fps when I move around. when I’m standing still it’s like 40-60. with all settings minimal it still dips very low when I’m moving around. I tested it mostly in divinitys reach near the bank.

can you post a dxdiag.txt?
1. type dxdiag in search window in start menu and hit enter.
2. dxdiag diagnostic tool window will pop up.
3. hit save info and it will create a dxdiag.txt file for you.
4. post the .txt file.

your d3d9 says unsupported also.
Its starting to look like all radeon cards say unsupported.
I wonder if its possible a recent update is causing a bug with radeon based cards?
I was using a Radeon 5770 up until a few months ago and I had no problems with it.
Ok in that case what ur describing sound rather normal.
In LA as u move through the city into different area’s the 1st time ‘stuff’ is loaded up will cause FPS to drop, but as its buffered, those drops wont be as bad.
So for example if i log in and spin the camera around i would see FPS plumit to the low 20’s, but after a couple seconds i can spin the camera around and the FPS will be stable at around 35-45 if im next to the bank overlooking the mysticforge during peak hours, and constant 60 FPS if im in another area that isnt as busy.
Now if this isnt exactly what ur describing then it could be helpfull if u could post a video of what exactly is happening.

Alright guys everything’s running a lot better now. What I did was redownload Direct X then I also downloaded a program called radeonpro. It has a dynamic vsync feature that works, after those couple of things it started running pretty well. Then I lowered the character model textures to medium and disabled high res models, now it’s running at a mostly stable 60fps. I also noticed a considerable increase in stability in Tribes Ascend (All settings maxed) it runs at a stable 90fps even in 28 player matches. Hope this helps anyone with similar issues.
