I am experiencing high ping at random times (mostly at evenings and weekends) which makes the game unplayable.. skills delayed for 3-4 secs, refreshing PVP rooms takes like 20 sec to show something and even opening items in my inventory can be delayed sometimes by a couple of secs. Anyone else having the same issue?
I have no problem with any other games only GW2, tested and constant 35-40 ms ping

I have been having high latency issues as well for the past 2 days. Ping rate during World Boss battles can reach up to over 4,000.

good to know im not alone.. my client can also have 3-4000 ping, today is also high since 11 CET+1, game is unplayable

My normal ping is about 50. Just entered a PvP Match and as soon as the fight started it spiked to 4000 and didnt go below 1000 for the whole match. Of course it was an obvious loss. After the match everything is back to normal.

Are you guys from SEA/OCX region. Seem like players from there got problem with ping.

Its nice to have a deserter buff bc loadingscreen takes forever after dc bc of the heavy lags. Dc happens not often but it does. Other Games and i-net work fine in the same timeframe.
Other Players on the Map are complaining too in the same timeframe so i think we are definitly not alone…
Today after I was back in the Mists it was fine again, but that was not always the case.

Exactly the same except I’m from Germany and had lags/DCs all day. I really hope they fix this soon, the game is unplayable.

I’m from EU Hungary, and same happens with me what you described… sometimes I can paly for hours without problem and at a sudden change all pings at 4k+ and unplayable
I can only think of the free base game and so many new joiners load the network so much (?)

These few days I am getting very bad ping spike of upwards of over 4k while usually I am running at around 210~250.

Since yesterday, i’ve had pings of 1500. I have never had a problem with ping before. Now it’s completely unplayable even in PvE tyria, and that’s saying something. I’m from SEA and has always been content with 200+ping, but now it’s getting real difficult.

Same here, Im also from SEA. My ping can reach up to 4k in WvW. Its crazy, i can’t even play.

I had never face any lag as I am using fibre optic connection.

But im facing huge lag since Sunday. My ping is up to 1200. Anet please solve this as I am not the only one facing this issue. A few guild members are also facing this issues. We cannot play with this kind of lag. Thanks.

Same here from SEA, got 2k ping when during dragon stand event, making the game totally unplayable. I hope ANet can take a serious look at this issue.

we still lagging like mad for SEA. Anet please attend to it.

Am also facing the random spikes of lag. I live in Middle East and i doubt it is the ISP. since the day they started the F2P and this lag nightmare started.
I have raised a ticket with A-net Tech Support and all what they did is trying to troubleshoot my end.
I can understand that they will start with my end first, but when I sent them eveidence that it is their end that is having the porblem they still insisted to continue on assuming it is my end :/ . So I doubt that they will ever believe it is their side that is facing the issues.

Still the same kind of ping issue here… 2k spikes and totally unplayable, not even story works due to glider design, character will just not do anything and u can only move around and wait for the error message “Client lost connection…”

And here I thought it was because my country has the worst Internet in the world.

I live in the Philippines. I got a 4k ping in Teq runs, making me essentially useless. And most times, unless I get a good connection, I’m lagging like crazy. Claw of Jormag is AMAZING with its slowness.

Also, I commonly get this login problem where I can get up to the character selection screen but I’m told I don’t have a connection (despite what my net UI is saying. Or Steam) and exits the client only to log in again. Annoying.

But, seriously, I blamed my country’s net. If those of you with the same problems don’t hail from these 7,100 Islands, that may be another issue entirely.

Just got kicked form a successfull Tequatl server before finishing him… everything worked normally for 15 mins then suddenly got 1200+ ping with the effect of NOTHING happening around me (I could move and everything but all actions done my dragon and other ppl)… literally the whole game stopped… then I tried to relog and can’t even log back… so long for daily teq run I also noticed that at these times Forums on official site loads extremely slow as well…

Please ANET take a look on this issue since it is getting really annoying… I had no problem with your game for almost 3 years and now every day something messes up, making the game unplayable!

I got the same problem after patch. Latency in mist is 60 and when the match start it goes from 500 – 1000

Yesterday was running 35-50 ping got an update today and running 200-2000 ping still kinda playable but annoying.

IM a SEA player and the ping is just too crazy. Cant even enjoy the game. =(

At least y’all can play the game. I cant even get past the wintersday patch.

I’m having this problem too (and I thought it’s just me or my ISP problem). 3 days ago my average ping is ~250ms, but recently it’s ~1.5kms at 19:00~23:00 (GMT+7), after that it gets better, but still ~400ms. I tried speed test, ping gw2 ip, reset router,… anything I could, but everything is normal, except gw2

Same here… even logged in, map loading takes forever.

It is really sad that ANet probably don’t put this issue at the top of their ToDos, because it only affect SEA, but we pay for the game too, and now we can’t play at all

From SEA ping got better now but having a hard time logging in.Chat and LFG is having delays.Map loading take ages to complete.

I’ve been experiencing this lag issue for the past few days too! I thought with the latest patch my problems would be solved, but… after patching the game I was unable to log in and I keep getting errors! I really hope Anet is going to fix this soon :x

Bumping this thread up because I’ve not been able to log in for the same reasons since 4 hours ago. SEA region here, unable to login most of the time and (if I’m able to) unable to load into LA before being disconnected again. Guess that patch didn’t do anything for us huh?

It’s getting worse since this winterfail patch.

Unable to login here from SEA, clearly not an issue from my end because all other games still work fine.

The ping was progressively getting worse across the week, from 200+ to 500+ to 1000+ and finally today after the patch, I am no longer able to log into the game.

Normal ping: 30
Periodic Ping: 4000+

The problem started over a week ago, but today is the first day that it has stuck around and is actually making it really hard to play.

When ping starting to reach 2-3k in-game report, it’s probably packet loss.
SEA here, having problem with packet loss in content with large amount of players (World Bosses, Meta Events).
Ping return to normal when I simply moved away from the area with large group of player while still on the same instance.
Can also confirm that I am routing to Anet server (64.25.×.x) via Telia network as well.

Here’s a little update for you good folks. Now that I have been kicked out of the game for trying to do WvW mists a 5th time, (December 16, 2015) the sixth time while in Lions Arch where it’s deader then some ones great great grandparent with a ping of 2500. I don’t do the special events seriously like most acheesement freaks that are out there. So most crowded areas I don’t have to worry about. Also like people have been saying in other threads, the options hat have been set to player desire aren’t staying that way either. Like every one I would like to know what the hell is going on.

I’m actually NA and have been having this issue for about 3 days now. About 95% of the time when I go into a large meta event, Dragonstand, AB, Jormag… I’ll all of a sudden have 3k Ping, eventually leading to DCing. Today is by far the worst where I can’t even participate, the lag just completely locks me out.

This is a big problem in game about the ping.

200 in normal. at least i can play.

But i got high ping around 2000-5000 this week
(include WvW, PVE, Eotm) nothing i can do in GW2 now= _=‘’’

ping usually sits between 50-100ms, recently been receiving lag spikes of up to 3ooo+ms at heavily populated events, including DR Wintersday get a ping of about 1500ms waiting for the Dolyak to poop presents!

I am expriencing similar problems. I currently can’t really play during evening hours (CET) and weekends sometimes have problems even druing the day.
EU, Germany.
For me this isn’t as recent as the Wintersday patch. I have been experiencing these problems for about 3 weeks now, but it got even worse since the Wintersday patch. I was rather surprised it could get even worse.

It seems that ANet doesn’t seem to care about us minority, I suggest you all try WTFast for a temporary solution. I used to have ~4k ping recently too, but with WTFast (free user) I get stable ~240 ping now. It may cause some problem loading TP or LFG (rarely though) but at least the game is playable

It is still unplayable for me, so I have to leave the game and stop spending money on it

Anet doesn’t own Telia or manage it, almost all the ping tests that are posted show them as the problem. Contact your ISP and provide that information to them and request that they look into it. If you all are going to sit around and wait for Anet to fix something that is out of their control, you might be waiting for a while.
