High Ping problem
I’m having similar problems myself. Lately, my ping’s been shooting up like crazy when I play. Usually, I’ll be fine for a bit when I first login, but then I start lagging and it occurs more and more frequently the longer I play.
Yups here too,
Was away for a bit till 10 minutes ago i started getting frozen in 1 place …. cant cast spells or anything.

It just started happening to me today out of the blue, I’ve played this game since 2013 and this is the first time ive seen frequent ping spikes to the anet servers while my ping to other speedtest servers remained stable.
Also having same problem in WvW on Piken Square. Major lag spikes not due to my location, have checked tracerts etc. Spikes up to 3800ms that occur when engaging in any kind of group fight, big or small. Game is unplayable at the moment for me.
Same here, I thought I’m alone with this. Started with the last update. Hope there will be fix soon.
Seeing high ping again @ 8 P.M. EST (-5 GMT).
This has been going on for weeks now – NCSOFT/ArenaNet ISP’s are having this much trouble with DDoS attacks?
My ping is spiking super high every day around reset. I played for a few hours before reset with no issues… then as soon as reset rolls around the whole game becomes unplayable.

Can we got someone to address this, what is the status regarding this issue? I spoke with many others and it appears to have not been resolved.
Ping issues normally occur somewhere between your ISP source and ArenaNet’s ISP. Meaning, if one of the many areas it routes through is having issues, your ping will be higher. One thing you can test is using CMD to access the command prompt and Ping other IPs like 8.8.8.8(google). Also try running a traceroute.
Having the same problem for a few days now as well on EU, Aurora Glade; most annoyingly on evenings and at night (was forced to leave MO challenge mote attempt because of that). Trying to change DNS to google one caused an even higher ping (over 1000). Some insight would be valuable :/
also having abnormal ping spikes the last few days. unsure if its local to me but ive reset my router many times with no cahnge and everything else seems normal aside from gw2. I’m Piken Squeare and live in GB.

Yea I’ve also experience the ping lag since they started introducing the Path of fire stuff. Its soo lagging its pointless to even play. I’ve went around asking people they also experience the lag. I’m just waiting till they fix it but until then I’m not even bother trying to play the game.
I’m under the suspicion that there’s more to the problem in their Frankfurt data centre than they’re letting on. Because when I run a traceroute that is the culprit in my connectivity issues.
