High ping starting at ANet IPs
well last few days I have been seeing pings going up and down like a yoyo.. I normally see pings of between 40ms- 70ms, but of late its been like 40ms – 6000ms.
Also last night ping was at times stable but spells of skills lag of around 5-10secs
Performance of late in GW2 has simply been crash and burning I would love to know what is being done to lift it back up, if anything.
Your high ping starts at:
cdnetworks-gw.ip4.gtt.net
That is where the problem is and it occurs before A-net’s servers. There is nothing A-net can do to fix this.
Well something isn’t right.. cos now their Ping counter has been killed (suspicious much) and FPS has nosedived on the SW map I am on
it may not directly be within ANet’s network but it is the immediate connection outside it, therefore i believe it is safe to assume it belongs to an entity that ANet/NCsoft is closely working with to provide their service to us, and by extension is possibly something actionable by ANet.
Where is ANet support??, no reply here, and no reply to the ticket…

You have a ping of 150. Some players would love to have that. So it’s safe to say that Anet Customer Support is busy with the thousands of serious problems, like Account theft and hacks.
it’s not just about the number, it may say 150ms but it feels more like 2000 (it’s not a somewhat noticeable delay, it is a substantial delay, i press the button and 2~3 seconds later it activates), there could be packet loss involved.
Same problem with me. Was fine until a couple of days ago then my ping shot up to 1000+ making the game nearly unplayable. This is only happening with GW2. Everything else I do with my connection works just fine and speedtest shows constant 23 mbps download and 1.8 up. That’s more than enough to run GW2 and watch Netflix at the same time because I’ve done it before. I’ve troubleshooted with my ISP and they see no outages near me, the closest being Florida and I’m in Los Angeles. Traceroute is attached. I don’t know what this gr2.la2ca.ip.att.net. It sounds like an AT&T server if that’s what you call them but it’s not causing me any trouble with anything other then GW2. Then I lose packets again at this ncsoft-ic-307708-dls-b21.c.telia.net.10.115.62.in-addr.arpa. And again at 64.25.32-26.ncsoft.com. There’s nothing else I can do but wait and see if it gets fixed before I get tired of waiting and start trying different MMORPGS. That would be a while though. I love GW2.

I found there is an outage in my area but it doesn’t look like it’s Anet related. A service/company called bluekai is experiencing trouble. Also, I found that NCSoft has had outages before affecting GW2 so maybe that’s happening again.
yea ping suddenly shot up yesterday, still high today.
Ping is NOT a reliable way to identify network latentcy….just general connectivity. It is NOT uncommon for servers to NOT prioritize (or even respond at all) to a ping request.
Use TraceRT for finding routing or latency issues.
Assuming issues like this are the Anet servers because “all my other internet works fine”, is just technically incorrect and simply shows you are not aware of how the internet really works.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances

i know that, that’s why i ran a tracert, used ping plotter, checked ping second by second using resource monitor, and lastly, the ingame latency indicator.
Regardless of what’s going on, I strongly recommend you create a support ticket so Customer Service can work with you directly. If it’s something on your end or related to your account, ANet can help you troubleshoot. If it’s on ANet’s end, that will make it easier for them to collect the data they need to track down the issue. And if it’s something going on with one of their service providers, they need all the evidence they can get to convince the 3rd party that the problem is on their (the 3rd party’s) end.
Good luck and please let us know what you find out.
