Hiya fellow advertures,
I’m in need of some information regarding max resolution support in GW2. ATM i’m running a (16:10) 1920×1200 24" monitor. And i was thinking to upgarde my screen. Does anyone know if GW2 can run(16:9) 2560×1440 WQHD of even (16:9) 3840×2160 UHD? And if it does can people share their experiance running these resolutions. If there are some people who are running my choices of screens plz share ASUS Swift 27" WQHD 144Hertz or IIyama 28" UHD.
Cheers,
Nassaya.
I have a Dell U2713HM monitor and use the native resolution of 2560×1440 for my desktop. I run Guild Wars 2, three other MMO games and most of my single player games at that resolution with no problems at all. I use a GTX 780 video card. I run GW2 with most settings on high, including high-res character textures. It looks great and I rarely have fps issues.

I looked up your screen and i see it’s max 60Hz how does this feel to the eyes? Don’t know if it’s an optical illusion but i have the feeling a 120Hz feels smoother to my eyes even 75Hz. feels some betterThats why my choice for the 2560×1440 screen goes to the asus swift the high refresh rate. But the UHD screen is max 60Hz i like more space on my screen but not if it’s uneasy for my eyes. And HDMI 2.0 max support is UHD @ 60Hz same for the last Displayport.
Cheers,
Nassaya.
I personally run U3011s and am ok with the 60hz refresh. I have tried 144hz monitors but quickly returned them due to the TN panels color accuracy and color shift, especially at larger screen sizes.
A lot of the mainstream 1400/1600p panels (like dell ultrasharps) available are for A/V production work. Thus most use ips (or variation of) panels for color accuracy but have max refresh at 60hz.
There are a few TN 1440p panels for gaming specifically that will suit your needs that can do 144hz, like the asus rog swift but again the colors are bleh at best but acceptable if you really need the higher refresh.

This really my dilema ^^ the refresh rate of my current screen is 60Hz/75Hz but ccfl backlit and those ccfl lighting do flicker maybe those flickering ccfl are bleeding though my current screen and that is what i mean with opical illusion. But both the asus swift and the iiyama are TN screens and most Dell screens are IPS like you said. altho the UHD screens ar TN panels. I’m just really conscious before spending alot of money and collect as much info from other experianceses from other people. And need to way the pro and cons of both type of screen.
Cheers,
Nassaya.

the newest monitors have dc modulated leds for flicker free backlighting. Pretty much a requirement for the gaming models that have high refresh rates or are gsync capable.
