When (or if) I get HoT, will it install over my existing base game? Or will it just install the expac stuff? I’m planning on getting the box set rather than downloading it.

Which, actually, begs another question. On a download, would the whole game + HoT come down the pipe as ANet say the base game is included?

Your account will download/install any files it does not already have. That’s it. If you use the key to upgrade your account, it will not ‘overwrite’ anything.

Yes. Starting on June 23, 2015, you’ll be able to pre-purchase boxed and digital editions of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns from our official retail partners.

They did however state there will be no boxed version of the Ultimate edition and there will be no Collectors edition.
