Guild Wars 2

My family just started playing GuildWars 2, and my daughter wanted to give the game a try. None of the rest of us were available to ask what world we started on and she created a character on Eredon Terrace thinking she could check out the game and then switch later. She and I just sat down to play together and realized we aren’t on the same world. She deleted her character she started then attempted to see about switching to Ehmry Bay where Myself, Hubby and Son have our toons. She said it won’t let her unless she buys an account???? WTH? She doesn’t even know she will like the game or not? She doesn’t want to spend $50 for a game just to switch world to check it out. Is there a way to switch worlds other then buying the full game? Start a whole other account?? I could get her another email address I suppose. Anyway please help. Thank you.

Like others have stated, the only portion of the game where your home world matters is WvW (World vs World) which is a PvP format on a large scale. Everything else is done on mega servers so you can play no matter what world you guys belong to.

So she and I can all group up for quests and stuff even though she’s on a different world? I am not even sure what wvw is? My account is still not to that 3day mark, or it is very close finally.

The game uses MegaServer technology, so it matters not which Home World you choose, except for the large-scale PvP known as WvW. You can all play together, just by joining each other’s parties. You can read more about it in the Wiki accessed via the link above.

Or, she can just make a new Play for Free account, and choose your Home World.

As long as you are all on Home Worlds within the same region, of course. All in NA, or all in EU.
