Guild Wars 2

I’m running GW2 on my custom built PC with the following relevant specs:
AMD FX8320
AMD Radeon HD 7770
32gb RAM
I’m not running the game on an SSD.
I’m currently using the 64-bit client (32-bit client doesn’t change my performance noticeably).

I run the game on almost all low settings across the board currently (character limits, etc), but native resolution to my monitor (1920×1080), and in most areas, outside of HoT maps and large events, I average about ~25 fps. However, the moment I step into a HoT map or a large event that drops to 10-15 fps. Everywhere I’ve looked I’ve seen that my PC should run the game at 30+ just fine, maybe dropping into the 20s for more intensive sections, and I’ve looked high and low for anything that might help. I’ve attached a screenshot of my CPU and GPU usage while in game, specifically Verdant Brink, though it doesn’t change much no matter where I am. I’d like to get back to both decent settings and framerate, if possible.

Make sure you have the video card at the closet slot to the prcessor. Also download run cpu-z and post a capture of what it says about the CPU and graphic card.

Try lowering the resolution,as a test,and see what FPS you get then.
The new maps are more complex and put more load on your GPU,
and most important,they require more GPU memory to run at the
same FPS as the old maps on any given video settings.

The new areas seem to be EXTREMLY heavy on your cpu. My fps drops from about 40 to about 15 in the new maps. It makes navigating the jungle a complete pain; I’ve actually stopped playing after a few days because it was just too bad.

Now I’m just waiting for a fix. I don’t have a spare 1000 dollars for a beastly gaming rig.
