Guild Wars 2

I bought GW2 base game a year ago from GameStop. Playing it ever single day since. I want HoT but I don’t own a credit card. Is there a game card I can use? I know Ultimate Game Card went out of business.

Also, I’m a little confused. When I follow the link thru my launcher to order HoT it says “comes with base game” but I already have the base game. I don’t want to buy the base game again. I just want the expansion.

I cannot get a paypal account. I don’t meet their requirements.

How do I buy HoT?

The base game sidenote is mainly for F2P players, it doesn’t charge you extra.

You can purchase a throw-away credit card in many retail stores. Just load it up with cash, then use it to purchase HoT.

You should be able to go to GameStop and purchase a digital key through the store. If you don’t care about pre-purchasing, you could wait for the standard edition box to be released at launch.

You could alternatively look into getting a “gift”/prepaid credit card.

I looked over their payment options again and the third option was PaySafeCard. I have never heard of it before but it looks like it might be Anet’s substitute for the long gone UltimateGameCard. On PaySafeCard’s site it says my local gas station is selling the cards. Have to investigate further.

I suppose it would be to much to ask if anyone here has used PaySafeCard?

Yeah I can’t find this PaySafeCard ANYWHERE and gamestop does not have rights to HoT until it’s official release. So those of us who don’t have a credit card are totally out of the beta stuff. Oh well.

You can also just buy a prepaid credit card (ensure you check if your country will charge tax with the purchase, or if you will have a conversation rate if purchasing with a different currency) and use that. It works like a regular credit card, as long as you have enough funds.

Many places sells them, like Walmart, or corner stores, or even some gas stations.
