I want to try to improve frame rates by switching to a lower version of DirectX.
Is it possible to change the default DirectX 9 level to 8 or 7 by adding the command line option, -dxlevel 80, in the Target Box of the Shortcut to Guild Wars 2?
If it is possible, what command do I use? -dxlevel 8, -dxlevel 80, -dxlevel 7, -dxlevel 70?
I tried, but I could not see a difference in graphics, which I thought would look a lot lower quality after the change.
I’ve attached a picture showing what I mean.

Guild Wars 2 uses the same engine as GW1, just heavily modified right?
I see on this Wiki the command -dx8 and other commands. Do any of these work?
GW2 is locked to DX9 you cannot change that.
Here is the correct info for command line arguments that are available in GW2

Ok thanks.
Do you think the -dx9single command would help performance?

No, as the wiki says -dx9single command has been removed from the client.
