How to fix glowing textures?
Nvidia card? Beta drivers?
Twiddle with the texture quality settings (put it on max quality) and/or the negative LOD bias setting, I can’t remember which fixed it for me.
I have the same issue and it is driving me nuts. Anyone have a fix for this?

I’m glad in a way I’m not the only one experiencing that bug.
Which can make you go ç_ç after a while, especially whith those flashing bridge.
I think I have found a workaround:
In Graphic Options, lower down Shader from High to Medium, or even Low.
Et voilà, flashing textures gone.
hopefully ArenaNet or Nvidia will fix that soon
OS Win8 x64/Nvidia GTX560Ti / Driver 310.70
Nvidia card?
Check. gtx 560ti / win8 x64
Beta drivers?
Check. 310.70

I did, it didn’t help.

That does work, but not totally. Some textures, like ship sails still glow, plus it’s a shame to have to reduce shader quality settings.

disable ambient occlusion in the nvidia control panel.

It was never on.
you are using BETA drivers and wondering why some textures glitching up?
just roll back to previous versions
i have to admit that i’m using the same version and supply stashes glow up just like in OP’s link…but i’m too lazy to install a previous version
“Only the finest of potatoes in my zerkburgers.”
Same drivers,no problems here. And btw,AO is never enabled by default, the “usage” is enabled yet AO functioning ingame still remains disabled unless enabled manually within nvcpl or nv inspec. So all the talk about AO messing things up and being the cause of these glitches is false.
i got same problems. i got glowing bridge ropes and glowing burrows in AC explorable. my problem show up when i put reflection on sky & terrain and not on all. i got gtx670 and im on 310.70 drivers. can someone confirm rollin back to older drivers fix the problem? thx
I had the issues with old and new drivers. I disabled AO in the cpl but still remains.

Install the latest stable version (i.e. Non-Beta) of your graphics drivers. If that is Nvidia then you should be currently on version 306.97

310.70 is a beta driver, just checked on nvidia.com 2 minutes ago. the latest WHQL Signed Driver it offered me was 306.97 for 400 series and 600 series selections.
Anyways 306.97 fixes the problem, I was trying out the beta 310.70 when I noticed the glowing textures, I went back to 306.97 and I no longer have that problem.

310.70 is whql -
They will be released in a few days. It is the same exact version as we have now in driver R310.70. The only difference will be the driver signature from Microsoft.
the geforce page hasn’t been updated yet, while the Quadro page has
i doubt 306 was the fix at all, because i don’t have any glowing textures on 310. More like you had a faulty gw2 profile, because the game has had 2 or 3 new strings added to its nvidia profile in the 310 drivers.

hm, so is there a fix to this at all? I’m guessing reinstalling gw2 would fix it according to ^ ?

I have this bug too
gtx 660 and 310.90 drivers
new drivers out 314.07
confirmed no more glowing – nvidia gtx 660m
I’m at a loss as to what is causing this. It seems to happen randomly, regardless of what video settings I use.
glowing objects or textures is a result of anti aliasing or a boom post process effect being rendered through and on the texture this is usually but that looks like you have something else running try turning down post processing to a lower setting
The only thing that will 100% fix this issue is, to use the old 306.97 drivers. Haven’t tried the new drivers yet, so no idea if they fix it too.

Yesterday I installed the new Nvidia driver (314.07 WHQL) and this fixed the glowing texture issue for me. So I would recommend to try this first, before downgrading to an older driver version.
Running Nvidia GeForce GTX 670, OS Win 7 64bit

Shouldn’t be AA since the only available choices are post-process.
I’m thinking it’s a texture error with lighting either during rendering on the GPU (may be fixable by reverting or updating drivers), or during while the texture is in VRAM (lower the memory OC if you have it OC’d)
