I am unable to install Guild wars 2, 0/0kb
I have ran as administator, fully recovered my computer, disabled security programs, tried to download from my account, disabled SPI. I am running out of ideas
I’m wondering if your video card isn’t compatible with the game. Is this the first time you have installed gw2 on this system?
yes it is the first time installing it, but how do i know if its not compatible?
Try going to your video cards website and try to install the latest version of the drivers. If I’m not mistaken, your integrated video card uses shader model 2.0 and you need minimum 3.0, but I think I saw that the latest drivers might try to work around that.
Please try and post back after trying gw2 again.
sorry for being such a noob, but where can i get later drivers, i have a hp
Try this link:
I Think that my drivers are up to date. is there anything else i can do?
Have you competed ALL of the windows updates, even the optional ones? Is direct x completely up to date?
As an alternative, you can try uninstalling your graphics card drivers and then try re-installing them, to be certain you have the best ones.
i tried to update it but it said “A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.”
Oh boy. Well, I could try to walk you through the repair process, but I just don’t think your video card is going to cut it.
Would you try to submit a ticket, attach the file you posted in your opening post, and let me know how you make out?
Unless anyone else has any thoughts or suggestions, I think I’m an unable to help. I’m really sorry. Please files ticket and let me know how you go.
Alright, thank you for the assistance

Hi Nent – I’m going to go ahead and say that your video card is the cause of the issue here. If updating the video card drivers didn’t resolve the issue for you, the only other option would be to upgrade to a card that meets the minimum requirements. I can’t give any specific recommendations, though I will say an AMD or Nvidia card would be the better way to go for performance over Intel chipsets.
