Guild Wars 2

I bought the game day 1 release and stopped playing. But, decided to start playing it again today. I can log into the website, but for some reason when I try to log into the client I get a message saying my account and password is invalid. Anyone know why this is happening?

2-3 hours ago I decided to change my password and now I have the same problem.. I can log in into this website but not the client.

Sometimes there can be a delay I have noticed. But that was the other way around for me. When I changed my password it worked for game but not forums/support area. Try your old password for the client and you just might get lucky and get in. GL!

It’s worth noting that the website allows passwords that are much longer than the client will accept. Around 60 characters seems to be ok according to Kibbles https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Password-length-Website-vs-Client-Login/1345451.

I have a password above 8 and under 13 characters I believe that is recommended if you also have Guild Wars 1. Anyway, support team resetted my pass and I made a new one and that seems to work.. I still find it a bit strange because I had the right characters, not too long, not too short, random and I could log in on the forum. I Also haven’t got an email notification that I changed passwords. Strange

I had the same problem. Some characters are allowed for the website but not for the game client. Very annoying because for most of my games i have a password thats made up of random numbers, letters and alt codes. (very hard to hack even brute force will take long)

Took me multiple tries but eventually got to login into forums…still can’t get into the game though…..gw2 team i’d happily pay monthly for stuff like this to never happen…like it never did with wow for me in 7 years…
