I cant even open my gw2
I’m coming for you.”
I had the same problem a week ago. For me it was because of a conflict btw two harddrives. I moved over everything to the same map and then everything worked again.
I had the same issue. Everything worked just fine until one afternoon, after I had downloaded the latest patch, I went in to see the updates, logged out and later the same evening tried to log in again but got instant crash message for some reason. Like I said, worked when redownloaded the whole game and move everything to C: instead of my secondary harddrive.
still not working. i dont have a good pc. i think it only has 1 hard drive. and it opens client. and says it loads. but it never goes to login section. and never plays. constantly loads. and its not loading anything. 0%

says "Downloading 0KB (0KB/sec) and like the client screen but doesn’t progress.
I’m coming for you.”
I am no expert, but maybe it has something to do with the firewall? Maybe the firewall is blocking the client from downloading the update?
tried firewall. not working. i have tried uninstalling with add remove programs but not working. so ima have to manually delete guild wars and reinstall
I’m coming for you.”
all that shows up is this. except. its blank. it has the picture. but i cant find the first loading screen thing. sorry mr.vladoportos or whatever your name is. but this is closest. its the very first thing, but its stuck. i think i deleted it. cause i cant find it on my computer. but now it wont reinstall
I’m coming for you.”
Have you tried downloading a new GW2-client?
try clearing your cache and cookies
also did you modify your MTU value ?
What’s the MTU value?
ok im back. it still has not worked all this time. i am re installing, i hope. i tried to uninstall, but didn’t work so i had to manually delete everything i could. i hope this works. i was unable to try earlier due to vacation. but anyway. il let y’all know.
I’m coming for you.”
same problem as before. i try installing and it works, until i press run for the 2nd time then it just disappears.
I’m coming for you.”
it says contact support, ive tried it. i think i may just have to reset my computer completely, it has some junk on it anyway. but i seriously doubt unless i reset it, that i will play gw2 again.
I’m coming for you.”
uninstall and reinstall game.
There have been a few people who have had this issue or similar on the tech support forums. Could you please post your compete system specs and (if it’s still available) your crash log or arenanet.log located in my documents/guild wars 2?
i completely reset my computer, now theres a different problem, probably an easier one to deal with. it now says no internet connection, try again. ive had this problem before somewhere else, but i dont remember how i fixed it.
I’m coming for you.”
that was a firewall problem, thats fixed, but now it wont go into the installing thing. no “install guild wars 2” this is the original problem. or close to it. it says do you allow, i say yes. then the window disappears.
I’m coming for you.”
Disable UAC (user account control) and try again.
where is that? ive typed it in search and nothing shows up. i have a windows vista 32 bit i believe. any other specs? since i reset my computer it no longer has java, which i just re installed i believe. and the nvidia is not there anymore, which i am working on finding.

It’s under User Accounts in the Control Panel.
Nvidia drivers:
oh ive tried the nvidia. its saying i dont even have one on my computer. and i do. its kind of old but i do have one. its the e geforce 8600 gt. i have an old computer, but i cant buy a new one. im trying everything to get gw2 back on. but. its tough man.
I’m coming for you.”
disabled firewall and everything, uac too. not going to install guild wars 2 screen
I’m coming for you.”
Could you please post your complete system specs? (particularly your processor & ram) I can see your os and vid card, please post the rest.
Are you running the installer as admin?
Since you were unable to uninstall properly, you may need a registry cleaner.
i will try to look for the specs. its a kind of old computer, so i will try to save up for a better one.

gw2 was working fine previously. so these specs are old, but still ok i believe.
I’m coming for you.”
Have you tried finding a different installer? (either downloading the newest one from your account management or by finding a older one)
Also, what kind of Internet are you on, public/university or private/home?
Everytime their is a patch I have to re-allow the game past my firewall because it’s version has changed. Now I get a little popup that asks me (I use ZoneAlarm). Now it’s possible that for some reason the game isn’t being allowed to connect to the Internet now and so it will just sit there.
So I would suggest checking out firewall permissions or any other Internet security software or hardware you have. Also if you haven’t yet, open up a ticket with support.
RIP City of Heroes
im at home. ive tried the firewall thing. it loads the thing, but instead of going into the “install guild wars 2” screen. it disappears. im in the process of checking out my graphics card and potentially getting a new one.

Try the installer linked within this page:

i was thinking of using this one, but lets see if it works. anyway. im about 93% sure my graphics card is fried up. so im attempting to find a local store to buy the wonderful graphics card that will save my life.

Lol, good luck and let us know how you go
yo peepers, im having trouble deciding about the best graphics card for my inspiron 530. i was going with http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A6173020&mfgpid=223429&chassisid=8455, which is just “VisionTek Radeon HD 5450 – Graphics card – Radeon HD 5450 – 2 GB DDR3 – PCI Express 2.1 x16 – DVI, D-Sub, HDMI” but i dont know.. ive always had nvidia and geforce stuff. can yall help me out. if you know about it.

I’m just going assume a few things and I’m basing my information off this:
ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_inspiron_desktop/inspiron-530_owner%27s%20manual_en-us.pdf
-You never purchased a video card before for this machine and you are running on its original graphics module, which is integrated to the motherboard and cannot play the game.
-You are aware of the requirements for the new graphics card since you only have, at best if you have not upgraded the system’s power supply before, a 300W power supply (you might need a beefier power supply to handle the increased power draw from the GPU AND you have the proper cables to supply extra power to the GPU [6/8 pin PCIe power]).
Assuming the above is known information by you, we can move on. The HD 5450 isn’t exactly a graphics card to game on. Will it launch the game, Yes. Will it play it well, probably not. The only way we’ll know if it plays well is based on a few things:
-What resolution does your monitor natively use?
-What settings do you want to play the game at?
-What FPS do you expect to get at the wanted graphics settings?
-Do you play other games (besides Guild Wars 2) that you are considering wanting to play on particular settings?

BONUS QUESTION:
-What is your budget?
After that the forums can get you a really well put together answer for what works best for you.

actually i have bought one, but it was a while ago so i will just say i know nothing. i previously bought a geforce 8600 gt. by nvidia but it says evga or something on it. i have 2 monitors. one i will most likely use more for gaming, which is the bigger monitor. the resolution is normally 1680 by 1080. its the highest option. and i would like to play the game at best settings but i doubt it can happen on this computer. im not sure what amount fps was good. i think like 59. i just want it to run smoothly at medium to high graphics, im not too picky. and i recently installed hawken, so id like to check that game out. and my budget isnt too high, around 70-80 dollars.

oh the bigger monitor is something around 20" and the smaller one is like 15" or so.

EVGA is the reseller, Nvidia designed the card. EVGA likely put a custom cooler on it to differentiate it from other resellers like MSI, PNY, Gigabyte, etc.
The resolution you stated is not a standard resolution. You likely meant 1920 by 1080 or 1680 by 1050. Judging from the monitor size you mentioned, and the relative position of the ‘5’ and ‘8’ keys on a standard numpad, it was probably a simple typo.
Hmmm well 70-80 USD isn’t going to do much, to really get performance worth noting, you’ll have to spend about double that to get your med/high settings at 1080p. Then, to play at highest settings (besides supersampling and all reflections) you’ll be looking at double and a half your budget.
At that point your CPU is going to hold your frame rate back. I doubt you’ll ever see 60 FPS with a C2D (core 2 duo) processor that you have at 1080p unless you can overclock it beyond any reasonable frequency. The best you’ll likely see is 50 FPS which is still smooth in my book. However, this 50 FPS will be when no one or very few people are around. The more crowded the area, the more the CPU will have a hard time keeping up, thus lowering your FPS. So when you do large WvW battles and large dynamic events expect your frame rate to drop like a rock because of your processor. The only way to solve this is either by upgrading or turning the culling settings for WvW on to their most restrictive level and turning the WvW character detail to its most bland setting.

You likely need a better power supply, like I hinted at before since you have a prebuilt system.
Also, while the GT 240 is an upgrade, you’re still playing on a super low end card from 4 years ago, so good luck running the game with halfway mediocre settings.

Keep in mind, your power supply powers things other than your vid card, so it may be stretched too thin now.
it was working before, and i believe it needed like 200 power supply and i have like a 350 watt
As the above said, your entire computer runs off that 350W supply. Over time as it ages, the efficiency gets lower and may not actually output the full 350W anymore.

i am having a problem on my daughters PC too! when i open it it minimizes and with not maximize! even when i try to uninstall it, it will minimize and wont let me do anything! it is a older computer but not that old! what can i do?
Post system specs.
im still trying to get a power supply, what is recommended wattage?

A 600W will do, it leaves room for expansion/overclocking and capacitor aging.
