I dl'd the Google Authenticator...now what?

I am in the process of protecting my account with an authenticator, and i’m curious, what to do after I download the Google authenticator app. Please dont tell me to go to the support page, because i was just there and it doesn’t say ANYTHING on how to actually link your authenticator to your account. Just on how to download it and what it does. Anyone please help?

I’m not sure if they fixed the issue with the authenticator, but I know a friend of mine used it and it booted him off every 15 minutes or so. Once he disabled the authenticator he was never booted again.

As for setting it up, no dice.
