I fell for one of those phishing scams in my in game mail. Don’t know what to do now. Im glad I didn’t give out my Credit card info, that would’ve really sunk my heart. I came back to play GW2 after about a month of non play in prep for my exams. Logged in for a quick look and checked my in game mail. Thought everything was legit (about an hour ago). Guess its my fault for not reading that warning at the bottom of the mails. I felt in a hurry since it said 2 days ago and said my account was being taken down in 72 hours (face palm).

Now some Nigerian prince has my full name, my account serial, email, my real address and home phone, (changed my passwords). Its a sad day that I had to come back to guild wars 2 today. Usually I’m not one to fall for such things and am highly skeptical about internet stuff. Guess I just had a mind slip when I logged on to relax. I also didn’t know what an actual message from arenanet looked like. Site looks legit though so props for them and too bad for me.

It was only after the fact that I found the phishing thread in google https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Alert-In-Game-Mail-Scams/first . Of course I reported them.

Sh*ts real out there. Watch your selves.

You should submit a support ticket immediately and let them know what happened. You already said you changed your passwords. However, you should also run a full virus scan that includes checking for Malware and keyloggers. Once done and if you are sure your system is clean you should once again change those passwords. Those sites often carry nasties with them.

Just to make sure in the event they use the information you gave them on the scam site to try to claim your account.

Click the support link at the top of the page then the submit a request link located at the top right of that page. Make sure you fill out all areas with an asterisk and all other pertinent information you can include. Don’t overlook the “specific issue” drop down option. A lot of people miss that one.

The daily report of the e-mail scam that has been been going around for a while.
Those that follow the link only have themselves to blame.
Although, the not from anet staff part of the message could be in bright red and flashing for those the don’t bother reading the entire scam mail.

I hope you get your account issues resolved.

It would probably be best to change the email associated with your account as well.
